Paint type

What paint do you use for this area of the truck? I have tried the body paint and it comes right back off. Thanks in advance.

 

Might be more of a primer question.

 

How old is the truck (MY)? Might get covered under warranty if there isn't any damage around the area and it can be claimed as bad workmanship...

 

It's 2021 with 48k on it so maybe it is since I the extended warranty. I will check and try primer too. Thanks

 

It is on plastic so you have to use an adhesion promoter; basically a plastic primer. The base coat and clear coat would be the same as the rest of the truck.

 

Is that the original grill?

 

Not sure what your extended warranty you got and what it covers, but with your factory warranty; you are over on mileage but under on MY... I think if you find a good advisor, they should take care of you at the dealership.

Also assuming you bought it new - take it to the dealer you bought it from, they may show more leniency.

 

Is this chipping paint something you applied or a factory finish?

 

Yes it is plastic ... I think the primer is a must now thanks

 

I replaced the limited one with a PRO but both were brand new.

 

That is the paint that the grill comes with new.
