    Hey y'all!

This is my first post and I absolutely love this forum. I've learned so much and hope to be able to contribute in the future!

My question is on those little, shaped metal plates inside the interior lights. The ones you press on (the plastic cover) that help turn on the lights? What is it called?

My Rock Warrior's drivers side interior light is messed up, and that metal plate is all jacked up. I'll be taking the entire head unit off soon for an aftermarket system install and plan on fixing the bulb connection (it's also messed up) but I think I'll need to replace that metal plate, and possibly the connector as well.

I'm new the to the Tundra world but have been working to get here for a long time. I haven't had any luck searching around google for this part or even what it's called.

So what is that metal plate called as well as the bulb connector for interior lights?

Sorry, no pics at this time, my truck is in the shop cause I messed up a repair and have to pay a pretty penny for that :puke::smack:

    Thanks!

What I found was you needed to replace the entire overhead console. You can find some on ebay from wrecks, but I bent my metal plate back into shape and it has worked.

Either try to bend it back in shape or make one out of heavy duty aluminum foil or the aluminum silver metal duct tape. The second option is better since it has adhesive on the backing.

When i bought my second gen Tundra, the overhead lights were no good. I removed the console and found that the socket for the bulb was pushed back from its mounting. I had to use super glue mixed with baking soda to build up the mount and repair the area. Works fine now.

While I was in there, I replaced the bulbs with LED from ebay. The full set for the entire interior was maybe 15.00..great upgrade for no money.

I believe the Meso plugs into the existing OEM connectors. So if the original connectors are damaged or bent, you would still need to fix them first.

Unfortunately the Meso lights have been sold out for at least a year.

Thanks for this! My drivers side light socket has been pushed up, so I'll probably do your method to fix it.

When you remove the console from the truck you will see that the socket and surrounding metal is held in place by small plastic posts. They are the ones that fail and let the socket recess..
