Hey Tundra friends! I am trying to rebuild my CV axle from my 2017. I suffered a mechanical failure while out on a road trip back in March which resulted in installing a new CV axle on the passenger side. I kept the old one and recently dug into it to find what damage had occurred.

It appears the axle shaft head separated from the cup, and damaged the ring (clip? retainer?) that holds it all in place. There is no other visible damage to the bearings, shaft, cup or anywhere else, only to the actual ring itself that holds the bearings in place.

I am trying to rebuild this axle to keep as a spare and I can't find that part as a single item. I went to my local dealership but they confirmed the CV axle is only available as a complete unit, no individual parts. Dude looked at me like I had 2 heads when I asked if there was any other part that would fit. This is not helpful! This ring probably costs $2.00, and they want $400 for an axle!

I'm wondering if anyone has rebuilt one of these before and if there's a part # out there that will work... I also need the CV grease and the boot clamp ring. Those are only available as a kit that comes with both boots, clips and grease... The boots are fine, just need the retainer! Any assistance will be much appreciated.
