Whatever this forum told me to do
I said this in another thread but...if you ever wanted all the old dudes at the gun range to stop shooting...pull up in an old hot rod.

best part is restarting it. having to go thru all the old school priming and pumping. then, it roars to life, spits nearly raw fuel out the back, and lopes like it it missing a cylinder.

and it's even better when your electric choke is broke on your demon carb, so you have to pedal it to keep it running when its cold.

    Life is good.

Crazy! Plum Crazy that is. The white interior will really set that color off. Good to hear one of your items on the bucket list has been realized.

Here's mine... 1967 Stingray Resto-Rod with ZZ 502 Big block, Vette Brakes front and rear suspension, fender flares, and 1960's six tail light treatment. Car was restored by my father and I ~25 years ago. Lacquer paint is getting a little long in the tooth but still looks great going down the road. Car gets a ton of attention!

:D It's bit of a monster and overkill in that little roadster. However, that was the mantra back in the day where "there's no replacement for displacement!" Things sure have changed haven't they?

Awesome 67 Vette, this year or a 63 is what I am looking for. Kudo's to your dad for restoring it and keeping it in the family. My dad had few cool cars in his lifetime but by the time I came along they were all 4 doors family sedans.

Thanks brother! The Stingray series went from 1963 to 1967 with about ~120k units made. Don't see many on the road these days.

These 3rd Gen Chevy trucks are starting to pick up steam in the collector market. Nice truck, good to get in on the ground floor!

Gorgeous 1969 Camaro... my favorite of the 1967 - 1969 series. I had a 1969 convertible with a cowl hood, Turbo 400 trans and a set of Cragers like your car. Super nice Camaro you have!

I don't know if I own anything old enough to be a classic compared to what everyone here is posting. But I do have a $500 Allis Chalmers from 1973 (iirc) :D

@ all you c2 corvette guys, got any ideas what i can do with some NOS hood panels? I found em at an estate sale, and had planned to put em on my blazer, but heard they could be worth big money to the right folks. I've got both.

Those panels are a 1963 only item. If they are original GM parts, you should be able to get a good price for them. Take a look on the Corvette forum or eBay to get an idea on the price to ask for them.

Its being disassembled for paint and bodywork, but this is my 1970 Dart 318 automatic. Dad bought it new and I took it away from him when I turned 16. My daughter wants it now when I get it finished. It will be B5 flame blue when she gets it.

What a beauty! I had one of these back in the day! I don't remember if you were able to get one with a manual or if it was only available in an auto? Mine was an auto Z/28 in dark blue with a silver interior. Lots of memories right there!

Nice stable of Mopars! My High School years were in the early 1970's and these cars were still roaming on the street. Any kid who saved their grass cutting money could afford to buy one of these classics on their 17th birthday. My dad and I were heavily into the restoration of Corvettes by the time I reached senior year HS and I was driving around in a 1964 Stingray. Some of my HS buds had...

    Mopars
    • 1970 Dodge Cuda (440 cu. in.)
    • 1970 Dodge Challenger (340 cu. în.)
    • 1969 Dodge Coronet (318 cu. in.)
    • 1969 Dodge Super Bee (440 cu. in.)
    • 1971 Duster (340 cu. în.)
    • 1970 Dodge Road Runner (440 cu. in.)
    • 1970 Dodge GTX (440, 4sp, and air grabber hood)
    Chevy
    • 1970 Nova (454 cu. în.)
    • 1969 SS Camaro (350 cu. in)
    • 1969 Z/28 Camaro (302 cu. in. 411 gears)
Most of my buds were Mopar fans and I took quite a ribbing having a Chevrolet Corvette. Had an interesting drag race with my bud in his 1970 GTX (440 cu. in., Hemi 4spd, and Dana rear) and my 1964 Stingray (327 cu. in. 4spd, open Hooker Headers with side-pipes, and 3:36 gears). Up to 95 mph, we were neck and neck... then slowly the big block Mopar began pulling ahead but by that time we ran out of road. Power to weight ratios were pretty close so it was big time fun. Years later my bud Vinny ended up buying a Corvette... I must have made a good impression! ;)

I couldn't imagine what insurance would be today on a HS student driving a corvette....even a 1975 go slow.
