Someone (off tundras.com) is wanting to sell me this Decked Toolbox for a standard 5.5-foot bed Tundra 2015-2019.

    They're asking $700.

As you can see in the photos, it's in decent shape except there were some serious cracks in the feet. He supposedly "repaired" those cracks with "plastic welder". And he believes it "looks" pretty secure now.

I've never used a system like this, so I'm wondering:

    1. Are these meant to bolt into the bed, or does it just sit in there for easy removal?
    2. Do things like Line-X spray liners and BedRug make it harder or impossible for the decked system to fit?
    3. Most importantly - how serious a concern are these cracks? $700 is still almost half of what it costs new. Is it worth that much with this kind of damage, "repaired" or not?

Why wasn't it replaced under their lifetime warranty?

Sure, but not for $700. Maybe $200. Those repairs indicate abuse and overload. How many more structural problems are not visible? How are the rollers and the glides? They might be working but possibly damaged.

I'd go for it in the $400-$500 range. I see them all over facebook marketplace for $800-$1000 with no damage.

Is the lifetime warranty transferable? I bought a used one as well last year or so.

I paid $300 for mine, and although it was an older design (doesn’t have the “T” slots for the dividers) it was still in pretty good shape. He said the drawers didn’t roll smooth, but I think he just didn’t have it installed properly as he wasn’t the original owner. I’ve had no issues with them since I installed.

I have a linex spray in bedliner and no issues fitting the decked system.

For the Tundras, those points he repaired are where the hooks come through the decked system and hook to the factory bed loops. With the wheel wells, even with the hooks not installed, I doubt the system would ever move. Biggest concern would maybe be an accident.

I’ve seen much worse for more, so $700 may be a good deal, but it wasn’t something I was even willing to pay that much for.

I’d stay away. I have had two and both broke. Parts are expensive and they didn't honor their warranty.

From what I can see, he’s missing the ruler and maybe the hardware for securing?

I’ve had no issues with mine and love it. But I don’t haul a lot of things with my truck. It’s so high that even before this decked system it was tough putting things in the bed. I just use my trailer.

Here are a couple of local listings to me for $500 and $800.

    https://easternshore.craigslist.org/pts/d/grasonville-decked-toolbox/7616272831.html

    https://washingtondc.craigslist.org/nva/pts/d/fairfax-decked-pick-up-bed-drawer-system/7615958261.html

    FYI, warranty is not transferable.

if you are looking to use this to help organize and maybe secure items, I’d say go for it. But I’d offer closer to $500 or less.

Mine also came with the locks for the drawers and the tray system. I also added drain plugs (although to the front of the drawer and not back like they recommended) to add ice for tailgating.

They said it may not have enough clearance for the tailgate, but I had no issue. I also put the plug in from the bottom as I didn’t want to stick my hand in cold ice or water to unplug it.
