Curious how you got in touch with suppport? just email? I'd love to find their whatsapp as I'd like to talk with them about ways to tweak the firmware for sure

I am having problems with the waze/navigation prompts being very low. I have raised all the volume levels that I can think of. Finally got to hear back from their customer service who stated
"Hi K, could you add our WHATSAPP: +86 18688780207, I'll let my technician contact you, may need to take a video"
Maybe this will help y'all out. I haven't contacted them yet regarding my issue w volume yet.

I ordered and installed this unit as well. So far it works pretty good. I did have a backup camera issue at first, but if I shifted in and out of reverse it worked fine and continues to work fine. I agree with others about the screen resolution. It is fine, but not unusable. It looks like a limitation of the factory screen, not necessarily the unit. My unit boots in to android auto if I leave bluetooth on on my phone, but it is a little slow to make the initial connection. This is my first experience using Android Auto. It takes some getting used to not touching your phone at all. Overall it seems like a good buy. I will be putting it to the test here soon on a long road trip.

installed mine yesterday, popped out the dash, plug and play and had this thing in and working in ~15 mins

Pretty simple overall, I'm driving somewhere that I need directions today so I'll report back how it functions in practice.

Screen is definitely low resolution but agree its a limitation of the Toyota screen and not this unit itself

But the resolution is lower than the stock interface graphics. I don't think the screen is so blame, it's the interface and how they bootlegged video input.

you really think it's lower than the stock interface graphics? I thought it was fairly on par, but if so it could potentially be improved. probably worth opening up the box and see what kind of onboard graphics that box has in it

From the pictures I have seen yes. Can you snap a few clear pictures of oem interface and the carplay?

honestly so far so good, I'll snap some photos of the difference in stock screen vs this today.

My use case may not be typical but for me I only "need" carplay if I'm using the maps features mostly, otherwise I'm fine listening to Satellite radio on the stock head unit, for me this lets me choose one or the other based on whether or not I need directions, offroad maps etc. or am just driving around town listening to XM going somewhere that I don't need anything else

I don't really see the benefit of this over something like the Carlinkit, which has been around for a while. Just plugs in like wired Carplay, and then bluetooth to your phone. Connection, sound and audio is great, and no need to go into the HU or wire anything up. At under $100 seems like a no brainer.

Long road trip with CarABC unit review:

I'll keep it short and post some cliff notes. The unit worked great. It never skipped a beat and I didn't have any real issues. It connected automatically and continued my navigation and music just like it is supposed to. The only quirks I experienced was with the backup camera during first start while the unit was connecting. It wouldn't display but a quick shift to neutral and back to reverse and it was fine. If the unit was already connected to my phone I never experienced an issue with the backup camera. The other thing was that Google maps wouldn't automatically switch to night mode. Very seldom I had trouble clicking on alternative routes on the truck screen. None of these quirks or the screen resolution were deal breakers. I am very happy with the unit for the price. I don't think I could justify spending $500-1000 on an entire new head unit for this functionality alone. This initial review is based on a 30 hour, 2000+ mile road trip.

Just finished installing this unit on my 14’ 1794 Tundra with the JBL sound system. CarPlay wired and wireless works pretty good but I have lost my back up camera. When I put the truck in reverse the screen just turns white. I’ve tried putting it into neutral and then back into reverse but still having the same issue. Anyone else experiencing similar issue?

Yep! It ended up being an adjustment in the Setting > Camera and switching it from “Aftermarket” to “OE.” After the change I’m able to see the back up camera every time I put it in reverse. Overall highly recommend getting it. Being able to use google maps on it is definitely a game changer

    I have a 21 Limited with JBL.
I have wired Carplay but not Wireless.
Is this what I need to make Carplay Wireless?

Do you have first hand experience with this product? Any issues with it connecting and or lagging?

Also, and this might just be me not understanding CarPlay but can you have maps directions running and be listening to over air radio?

I got it yesterday and installed it. All I can say is it is not worth the 200 bucks... Shitty sound quality, crappy display, horrible laggy interface... Im not sure why maybe i got a crappy unit, there were like 4 different models. I tried different tips for you guys here, the EQ is set to Electronic, change the cam to OEM, still is not worth the sound quality or the image quality. The AutoLink is not working at all if you want to switch, you can not do it while driving, too complicated and setting changes to switch between iphone and Android. I'm so disappointed and now have to take out all this dash to send this garbage back.

Is loss of dash clock normal after installing the CarPlay module or did I miss something? Does anyone have CarABC tech number of contact info

Yep, this will make your Carplay wireless to the phone. I've had this for about two years now. Works great 99% of the time. Every now and then it will fail to connect. I just unplug it for a few minutes or so and plug it back in and its fine after that. Takes a few seconds to synch up when first starting the truck, but otherwise its pretty handy. You can hide it behind the dash somewhere if you want, I just velcro'd it to the rim of the console to the front/side of the shifter area. Easy to plug/unplug and not in the way.

I have had Carlinkit for probably close to two years now on my ‘21 TRD OffRoad. It works pretty good. For some reason sometimes it connects and the volume can’t be adjusted. Super annoying, and I’d say it happens 1 out 5 times. I’ve tried updating and never had success. For me, it’s still worth it, I hate getting my phone out and plugging it in, especially for short trips.

I just purchase the Carlink on Amazon, had a $46 off came out to be about $73 total. This is going in my Wife's 2022 GX460, It did not come with a wireless option so hoping to figure out how to run this unit so its out of the way and hidden from view.
    Thaks for the tip.

Purchased and installed today. As of now, I am probably returning it. But I am going to give it a couple days to verify and try to figure out how to fix the things that annoy me.

First and foremost, I came from Ram/Mazda/Jeep and am familiar with carplay and its limits. So far, infortainment is my second largest gripe with being new to Toyota. So before I purchased a whole new alpine/kenwood HU, i figured this was worth a shot.

I installed it without adding power and ground to the USB, wasnt sure if i needed to and honestly, didnt have the time with all the other stuff I did today.

    1) USB option doesnt work... figured so not holding that against the unit.
    2) graphics are on par with Tundra infotainment, meh... but we know that.
    3) backup cam doesnt work, i tried everything i saw to try and even ran the truck for a few hours since the install, still doesnt work.
    4) Havent figured out a way, without researching (I will try the double tap on the volume tomorrow) to get out of the carabc screen once in it.
    5) already miss sirrius radio since you cant run both at the same time.
    6) slow to login, meh... Mazda was terrible for this too *shrug*
    7) have to reopen music and hit play each time... this is annoying.
    8) did I mention the backup cam? This, if not resolved, will be the sole reason to return it.
