LHF and RHF Doors Not Closing

Hi everyone!

I’m having an issue similar to what the link below to another thread mentioned.https://www.tundras.com/threads/door-issues.118494/#post-3060347

However I noticed that there isn’t an issue where the latch meets the door lock (meaning that the adjustment needs to be done) but that on occasion the latch itself in the door actuator partially lowers resulting in the door making a loud noise. After I push it up no issues. I also have the issue with needing to slam my doors quite hard in order for it to work.

I removed the door panels and the latch and door handle are solid and seem to open without issue, but I’m assuming I may need to replace the actual latch mechanism. Curious if anyone else went through this process? Cheers

 

Check this thread and see if it sounds like what you're dealing with - but know the part number he's dealing is potentially not compatible with your truck.

No prob. If you need the part number, you're going to need to call your local dealership. The Toyota Parts system is FUBAR right now, it looks like they're migrating to a new platform and everything is friggin borked.

 

...and expect to pay and arm and a leg!

 

I might try one of my local junkyards if it's too much or just deal with it...

 

As stupid as it sounds, you may also just try getting some triflow, blowing it through the latch mechanism to clear out old grease, and re-lubing it.

Worst it can do is solve the problem with no hardware needed.
