I'm with ya, everybody today is too politically correct, or God forbid u make a joke about race or religion. If people only heard the way me and some of my people's crack up with and on eachother they'd lose their mind. Then again I'm in NJ constantly surrounded with many diverse people. Seems like sometimes when it gets outside that some people get up in arms about a joke or some shit talking. Prob could make a #1 comedy if only a camera was recording. All day long at my job, if the person don't have thick skin or a quick mind they dont last long. Constant ball busting all day long, it's great.

 

I can relate, I'm bout to piss off any Klan members here but again don't give a F. I got mixed kids with the ol lady being pretty tan in color and sometimes I forget that doesn't always give me a pass to say some crazy things about different ethnicities than my Irish mutt self. I'll joke around saying I'm a white mutt and she's my colored mutt, making my kids the ultimate mutts,but with people who don't really know me I've seen their face drop over the word color. Meanwhile I'd say I probably have an almost perfect mix of races in friends, family, and aquantices. Hey I've never been a p.c. person sure as hell aint gonna start now for no one. But yeah I can def relate putting myself in that awkward position. Good thing I'm a pretty big crazy lookin white boy who's known to get down. If I was a little skinny looking wimp I'd probably got my ass kicked a whole mess of times by now over being my pretty crazy self.

 

I think the key is if I'm willing to dish it out in good fun I got to be willing to take it too.

Yeah u def got to be careful nowadays. Everyone takes things too serious and sometimes what u say can get u fired, ass kicked, even killed. I feel bad for kids nowadays. Seems like the joking and poking fun we all had growing up back when I went to school now would get ya kicked out fast. U can't even get into a fight anymore without being sued or people looking to make it more than it is. It's crazy what I see around me now these days. Feels like the world taking a step back instead of forward with race and religion. Thought we would all just be able to joke, fight, and have fun talking smack without it being taken so serious. Can't we all just get along? I live by the motto that anything I do is on camera, chances are I'm right. Always got to be aware of surroundings always in this world with everything.

In the spirit of getting back on track, @joem1cha3l was awesome enough to send me his extra set of colored black lugs. Question is for my long lost buddy @Rocketman or anyone else who can help. When I put the 1st 1 on I didn't like the look of them with the stock chrome round ring behind them. Unfortunately just removing that chrome ring looks off to me too with a big space left open around the lug. What did u do to compensate for that? Did u paint the stock chrome ring behind black? Whatever they're called please lmk if u purchased them black so I can consider doing same. Lmk if u don't know the chrome ring I speak of, I'm guessing since yours is black rocket u do? So now that my ass end is a lot higher than when I bought it, the tiny little tailpipe is really bothering me. Whats the best exhaust for looks? I want to give Keith some business but it seems like the TRD exhaust is the best way to go? I know I can order those through him too.

I'm pretty OCD so I'm slightly concerned about being able to get the thing perfectly level on both sides...

They make an awesome muffler that utilizes the stock tail pipe or other options and he will work with you until satisfied with sound and whether you want to use dual pipes, single stock pipe or other side exit setup. Keith makes different models from real aggressive straight pipe with no drone to different sized mufflers 6", 8" and 10".

 

Yeah. That's the Keith I was referring to. Very familiar with dirty deeds. Was more curious about aesthetic though than anything

 

Ah, missed that (Keith reference). Yeah, I didn't want to deal with the dual pipe thing on the TRD exhaust because every one I look at appears not to be level (and yes, it could just be my eyes). So, with my BAMuffler, I just see the stock tail pipe. I've always liked single exhaust vs. dual anyway...

I don't think the diameter of the TRD pipe is any larger, but you would have two of them...

 

I really like my TRD dual exhaust, hangs level on both sides. I also sprayed them matte black with high temp enamel.

 

Got tired of the "wood grain" trim pieces. Tried some carbon fiber wrap. Turned out pretty good.

 

@Medic Looks good, post pics once you re-install in truck.

 

Please post pic how looks in black. I wouldnt mind a complete chrome delete.

Tnx bud, but I already have trd dual. Just want to see what it looks like in black on truck and hear what was used to make it look that way.

 

But tnx anyway, I appreciate your attempt to help. I'm def keeping my trd dual, I just want to see it on truck in black. If looks good wondering what was used to get that way and how holding up to high heat, rocks, ect.

Yep and held up great while I had it on. Prep is everything so you'll need to scuff up the tips pretty well.

 

If you're just concerned with looks then you could always just replace the tail pipe or tip (just the tip lol). You can cut it off and replace it with a bolt on or weld option. I know Keith has a couple options for pipes and tips rather than you just replacing the whole muffler section. He made me a couple turn downs to dump under the bed.
