I think I did the same. I doubt the engine oil temp is working correctly though. It's always in lock step with trans temp.

I have the pids for the Torque app. Not sure if they are the same.

Gave her a bath and tried Cerakote’s ceramic sealant for the first time. Still looks decent at 200K miles

I lived here from 70 to 76 when my Dad was stationed at Oceana on the original Kennedy, then move to NoVa until 3 years ago when I moved back. I’m in North Suffolk and love it.

AC compressor replaced with a new Denso unit. Leak tested and recharged.

No more loud bang noise when the ac clutch engages. And sadly no more supercharger whine from the pulley when under load or throttle.

After debating on it for awhile and seeing nothing about it, I was cruising Facebook marketplace and saw a dude selling a 2018 tailgate handle along with some other ‘18 parts. He lived 3 hours away though so I asked him how much he wanted for it.

After finding out I told him I’d give him $10 more if he shipped it to me. Finally got around to testing it out today. Fits well! It’s a little snug on my 2007 but it’s higher quality (lol, OEM) than the Amazon one I’ve been rocking since 2018 with my $100 backup camera kit.

Now to buy white vinyl letters…

Got some new tires, went with the BFG Trail Terrain T/As based on recommendations from some helpful forum users. I like the ride quality and grip, and they're pretty quiet. Plus they have a nice, semi-aggressive look for really being a primarily on-road tire.

I've been using that Kirkland Signature Full Synthetic for a couple of years now. It's quality stuff and comparatively an excellent deal.

Made a spare key in the most complicated way possible.

First I ordered this. Despite the confident "YES!YOU CAN USE" I could not.

    03B0A65B-247A-460B-BF6E-E0911EC04369.jpg

I was able to use Techstream to program the wireless remote. I had a locksmith cut the key for $5. However the key wouldn't start the truck because I have a dot key instead of a G key... If you have a key with a dot on the blade, message the ebay seller and he will replace the transponder.

But there were no good replacement keys for dot keys, so I ordered a replacement dot key, registered it and removed the transponder. The transponder is this totally separate unwired chunk of plastic that just needs to be near the ignition so you could stick it in anything to start the truck. You do not need to have the key cut to do this.

    78A56572-1779-457D-8553-77D9F3A464A5.jpg

Then I popped open my switchblade key (remove the sticker, unscrew it, then pull the two halves apart). Pull out the bad transponder and put in the good transponder.

    C8E39419-2D90-4A69-BEEE-80ED391FE39F.jpg

Here's the new and old key for scale. The new key is really nice and smaller in my pocket. Plus flipping the blade is satisfying.

    CB57DBAD-F6B8-4AC4-8A61-1544C1364581.jpg

Also I finally moved my stupid front camera. Now I can see the bumper and pull up within an inch of stuff which is really helpful when maneuvering. However it looks stupid.

It all started with me just wanting to see if I could get my headlight lenses a bit clearer with some abrasive compound...which didn't make much difference since they weren't excessively dingy or yellow anyway.
    signal-2023-04-23-164229_004.jpg

    signal-2023-04-23-164229_005.jpg

Then I realized how well it worked on the chrome as seen in this pic. So I decided to clean up all the chrome including the emblem:
    signal-2023-04-23-164229_006.jpg
    signal-2023-04-23-164229_007.jpg

Then I saw how the black plastic around the emblem responded so well to the compound so I had to do all the major surfaces of the grille (outside of the diamond shaped mesh parts)...
    signal-2023-04-23-164229_008.jpg

So in other words I got myself into more cleaning and buffing than I intended to do this afternoon, haha.

Got it on the road for the first time in 4 months!

Hauled my late grandmothers 1982 C3 Corvette with 13,700 miles.

The Slurp pulled everything without a hiccup. Love his truck more and more every weekend I use it!

I was looking at the ebay listing a few weeks back. You can message them for a dot key. Did you do that and still get a G Key?

That's nice! How are you selecting modes? And did you loose the transmission temp gauge but gained some others?
Is that dash available with a temp gauge?
    TIA

Same gauges. The Info button that usually controls the display in the middle of the dash now controls the computer in the cluster.

Definitely the best bang-for-the-buck upgrade I've done!

After my work (accounting ugh), my brain was telling me to do something interesting, so I decided to work on my car! I took out the useless coin case (yes, my car is 2wd, deal with it haha) in the dashboard, and replaced it with this homemade phone holder. I made the holder using two closet hole covers and one ball adaptor that I salvaged from my existing iphone holder. I used a 2'1/8" closet hole cover to screw the adaptor and another closer hole cover (but measures 2' 5/8") to secure the hole cover to the dashboard. It was an impulsive project, but it turned out pretty well!!

I too have the woes of owning a 2WD. I replaced the coin slot with one out of a Sequoia that has a closing cover so I didn’t have to stare at it.

Great job making it a usable space!!!

I have no info button or any steering wheel buttons (like yours), thus no means to change it. Unless you're referring to the Trip Odometer reset button on the cluster?

Edit: it appears to be PN 84977-0C020, Drive Monitor Information Switch.
    Containing INFO, SELECT/RESET, SETUP US/M

Mine has a blank filler panel there to the right of combination meter.
The schematic shows this goes straight to the gauge cluster.

If you're comfortable doing it, you could figure out how to pull the panel surrounding the cluster out to check to see if you have a connector prewired for the info buttons.

It appears to be PN 84977-0C020, Drive Monitor Information Switch.
    Containing INFO, SELECT/RESET, SETUP US/M

Mine has a blank filler panel there to the right of combination meter.
The schematic shows this goes straight to the gauge cluster.

I'm in the middle of doing a fog light mod and need to find the tool to depin the grey wire her pin#8

Then I can wrap that up. I also have flasher relay I'm integrating a Smart Tap CF18 programmable relay into. If I can pull that off without blowing fuses I think I'll be okay.

    thanks @Tundra-in-Cement !

I think I discovered that the truck needs a new DS Rear Wheel Bearing. I used a stethoscope and it sounded unusual...

During the last week I also:
Took it in for an estimate to fix some hail damage.
Replaced the lower seat cushion...Thanks Toyota of Decatur, AL.
