Don’t get the 4-6” u less you actually did a 6” lift. I got the 4-6” and they were waaaay too long for just a 3inch lift.
Check your abs lines too bc they might be getting pulled pretty tight.

I believe these are them at full droop before I swapped my upper links out. These are the 0-3” upload_2023-4-21_17-10-51.jpg

When you say 1 3/4 turns of extra preload, do you mean extra turns of pre load from what came with the kings out of the box / factory set pre load? And if you did adjust for additional preload, is that how you gained the 2.25" inches of lift with the TRD UCA's ?

I have a 22 TRD Pro and curious if I would need to add anything else if swapping stock rear coils with the Dobinsons 1” stock weight?

Yes, I added extra 1 3/4 turns of pre-load from what came with Kings out of the box before installing them. That gave me 1.95” of lift with factory UCAs. When I swapped the factory UCAs with the TRD UCAs, my total lift over stock went to 2.25”

King told me I would get right about 2” lift out of the box. I wanted 1/4 inch more lift, so the reason for the extra pre-load I added before the install.

Same for me as the other guys. I’m running the 0”-3” extended lines in the rear from Yotamafia with my OME springs. They’re solid.

Side note: I think the brake line connections in the rear (rear only) are actually the same in both the 3rd Gen and 2nd Gen. I recall having a conversation with one of the folks at Yotamafia back in November about it because the package they sent me was labeled “2nd Gen Tundra Extended Rear Lines.” I thought they sent me the wrong parts. They worked just fine. The fronts are definitely different though.

There’s a few LT kits in development. Icon showed they’re LT kit at SEMA. It’s pending a late summer/fall release, I believe. I think Ella has one in development too.

I started with c59-559v, but after topper, rack, decked system loaded out and a full size spare I decided to get the C59-547 (I think), knowing that I have a c4 rear bumper still to be installed. At this time I also put in Firestone airbags.

I could honestly use a few turns of my front coilovers to level it out a bit more and maintain my rake

So the generic statement from icon is “PTFE-lined FK rod ends for increased suspension articulation, reduced deflection, and on-vehicle link arm length adjustability using ICON’s double adjuster system. Additionally, multi durometer bushings are installed that allow for noise free operation and maximum angularity without the need for periodic greasing and/or other maintenance. The quality rod ends and bushings featured in these link arms allow the vehicle’s suspension to function as intended, without the bushing bind that limits the vehicle in stock form.”

for me. 50% I wanted them for adjusting the angles of the rear suspension due to unknowns in lifting it early on. The other 50% was I got a crazy good deal on them when they were initially released early last year.

I’ve asked that too with conflicting answers. I’d like less sag when loaded

What were some of the answers you were getting? I have never heard anything extra needed for the Westcott spacer in the rear, for example. Would 1” in a coil be any different?

I was told the stock shocks were too short. But I’d rather do slightly stiffer spring than airbags.

Westcott lift comes with rear shock spacer. That's how they doing it with their rear spacer lift. So I'm guessing you'd need rear shock that can accommodate the rear lift otherwise you'd overextend the factory shock.

Lots of talk about longer brake lines. I am installing a Dobinson 2/1 IMS. Will I need longer brake lines?

Thanks for pointing that out, I never noticed the shock extenders. Does anyone know a place to buy a set of shock extenders separately?

Yup…all inclusive kit and dealer should align you afterwards with no issues.

There seems to be 2 answers to folks with skids:

1- Sway bar sits outside of skids if they utilize the drop brackets for them (recommend for max suspension movement is what I read)

2- Get spacers for the skids and that way you can ensure it covers the swaybar (assuming you use the extended end links)

Someone with RCI may want to report however as these reports were from folks with the TRD skids…but I think it’s close enough situation if not the same.

A few folks (very few I think) seem to have slight rubbing on swaybar or frame (not sure how or why but did see the report) but
Almost everyone else seems to be free and clear.

All the info is over on the TRD lift thread.

…and while Tundy may look like it skipped leg day I think you’ll get used to it until you ready to get larger tires (if ever)

Good luck…can’t wait to see it when done.

i'm curious why TRD decided to change the front knuckle, tie rod ends for their lift kit. So far no aftemarket lift kit have done that yet.

Swapped out my heavier duty arb coils for the C59-843V. The rear definitely has an easier time flexing out with these vs the 2863s. Still a nice amount of rake for when the bed is loaded up. I had a hell of a time getting these coils into place. I’d recommend spring compressors to get them slightly shorter for installing (or ratchet straps if you’re like me). My only complaint is that these coils are not ground flat on the side that contacts the frame so there’s a bit of unevenness with how they sit on the dampener cone, but I don’t know enough about these coils to say if that matters or not. It probably doesn’t.

    Hi all,

I'm getting ready ready to do the dobinson suspension upgrade - front, back, and rear HD coils.

Do I order from them directly or is there a better place to buy it from cheaper?

Can’t go wrong with dobinson direct or exitoffroad. Most of the dobinson’s stuff I’ve ever purchased drop ships from Dobinson Direct regardless of where I bought it from.

I tried ordering from both Exit and Dobinsonsdirect but was quoted $460 for shipping alone.

However, I was able to order through a local dealer another Island over for the retail price shipped to Honolulu.

Super stoked for it to arrive and for the install. Coupling this up with the Trd UCA’s.

Yes, IMS…3” 0-110lb Front Coils and 2” 0-110 Rear Coils. I went with the 2” rears due to the Hybrid and will crank the fronts a little if needed per dobinsons advice.

NICE! Please post a picture once its all said and done, your 3/2" with 0-110 springs is the exact kit I'd like to get, but hesitant since I dont know how it will sit. I'd like it to have a mini rake and not sit level, but definitely want the front to be a true 3" (I hope). :mudding:
