Maybe. I think I read that the 2001 had it too. Hmmn. I gotta learn a lot in a hurry. I lined up a buddy to go look at it with me tomorrow morning.

Mostly, y'all please lmk if there's any critical Easter eggs I need to know about... you know, like time belts on a 1st gen Tundra.

Oh yeah they leak. Car has only seen rain twice in the last 20 years and they were both on accident. It needs some things if someone wanted to drive it in any weather.

I think '05-'07 is the sweet spot, when the redesign came, they look great, when Toyota started to stretch them out, longer cabin room. For my kid, I'd be interested in the more-modern safety stuff w/o all the nanny BS and the '06 had a perfect crash safety test rating. The V6 versions will haul ass (closing in on 300HP) but I think they tuned it down.

FWIW, I think the '13+ gen started to share the Lexus ES platform. But I doubt you'll be wanting to pay the 5-digit price tag probably attached for a 1st car. I know I wouldn't. I don't plan on spending more than 5k-6k and ideally in the 4k range for my spawn. It looks like the '09-'10 are some to watch out for, lots of recalls on the braking system, looks like they fixed all that in '11.

I started digging into them a while back, but I think @empty_lord would probably have better, more in-depth input.

EDIT: Speaking of kid, sitting in ER with the oldest this morn. She fractured or twisted her ankle doing relays during sportsball practice. (tennis)

I looked at those - just a little too coppery for me. I'm aiming more golden. I think this is about as dark as I could stand, truck belongs to "m.reed.1" on TW, but no clue what the wheel is, I'd need to dig.

I've been eyeballing the SCS in brushed copper SCS uses, @EvilMilkshake is running on his AC:

Still waiting on x-rays ... gotta plug in, these people are taking forever...

I'm also kinda fond of these Level 8 MK6 in matte bronze... but it looks like they're discontinued, of course.

Thanks man. Just got back. x-rays showed nothing, they called for a 2nd set, doc says no fracture, all soft tissue.

Referred to ortho doc, hope they'll send her for PT to beef things up. This makes major sprain #2 in 3yrs, clearly she inherited her old man's klutziness. Only difference is, I could roll my ankles multiple times a day and be OK, years on the skateboard made mine bulletproof. My knees, though ...

I found 2 places that claim to have these in stock, and they're less than 200/ea. I don't love them, but at the cost, if they have them in the right size, I may go for it. The only thing I saw that had me stumped, they listed a bore size of like 106.1 or something, but I wasn't sure what it was on our truck...

    106mm is correct
my KMC enduros are 108mm so I can't use my fancy TRD center caps. That's part of why I want the Level 8's, plus I want 17's for 35's and I love a 6 spoke wheel and a set of 5 won't break the bank

Saw something odd while driving through Oklahoma.

    SPEED LIMIT
    75
    NO TOLERANCE

Does this mean they pull you over for 76? :notsure:

The 3rd gen (05-12) are just a MUCH more modern power train. Same engine I put in the mr2. Much more modern inside to. Still dated though

Back in the 90s you didn’t have a speed limit during the day in Montana.

I think this is the first time I've seen 75. I looked over a few minutes ago and my wife was doing 88. Oklahoma has more scenery and hills than I was expecting.

Technically 10-12 are the ones with all the issues addressed. Granted the issues were rare. And the u660 is a stronger trans than the u151 in 05-07

05-07 is just where it's at for my taste

I test drove the '13 hybrid when looking for something more economical. I really liked it, I just wasn't willing to pay the extra 20% over a Camry when I just needed an ultra-economical daily driver hybrid to commute in the city at 30MPG+

I’m dropping off an antique desk from my wife to her Aunt, then dumping our old countertop at the wife’s brother’s and having some drinks. Wake up tomorrow and bring him back for a quick visit and so he can take his Benz home which I drove up from palm desert on Wednesday.

Oh and picking up a table from the same aunt on the way back.

lots of drive time and a bit of bro time and some shuffling of large stuff. The countertop might be 600 lbs.
