I don’t mind boxed Entemanns donuts at all. Take them on fishing trips.
OP, good luck finding some new wheels. I believe that would be a comprehensive claim. It shouldn’t raise your rates.
Also, I don’t think it’s much to go from 1000 to 500 on your deductible. May be worth looking into.

Dammit man, vending machine donuts lead to cannibalism. The science is clear.

As for the truck ruining crowd with oversized MT’s on shoddy aftermarket wheels with a cheap spacer lift. Have at it. I’m still going to make fun of them though.

All I ask of the ones I know personally is that they keep all of the stock parts. They’re all in their 20’s, just hired out on the RR I work for within the last 2 years and ignored the solid advice from those of us who’ve been out here longer than a couple of years to not buy a new truck or other shit they don’t need. When they inevitably get furloughed and can’t make their $800-$1000/month truck payment, and need to sell it; I don’t want to buy their questionable mods if I otherwise like their truck. I figure the way things are going there will be more than few for sale here in the next 12 months.

“ ignored the solid advice from those of us who’ve been out here longer “ …. This tool can’t help himself. Kinda like being in grade 8 again dealing with the mouth piece who just can’t accept another persons opinion or choice. Lucky for me I figured out how to block this bozo.

think I wii go find a person with a jacked up truck with 37’s and buy him some beer.

A truck is a truck not a luxury item imho and I would not put 20” or dubs on a truck whatsoever. This isn’t gonna be a first and it isn’t going to be the last. Watch out for drive thru’s and other miscellaneous places where curb rashes r common.

i can’t recall how many curbs I’ve hit or bumped, ran over and been pushed with my stock sr5 wheel and tire. the rim is never ever affected.

If I were you I would just get the bbs 18 and tuck them in some nice 265’s.

Hmm, not sure I agree with that. I liked brawn long before I discovered donuts... (Headcheese has a totally different meaning to us Brits and you can keep that and, better still, wash once in a while. :puke:)

Low profiles are a dumb idea, many moons past I had an Audi A8 that came with low profiles, I hadn't had that piece of shit car for more than 14 days before I took out a tire, it was annoying that it blew out at a low speed but at least it didn't fubar the alloy rim. Thereafter I understood why center line hogging twats with hi-end cars kept well away from the roadside edges...

What rim do you think would look best on a black Capstone? Keep in mind this is my highway / 10ft enclosed gunshow trailer pulling truck. OEM only rims. Don't use the truck offroad or in bad weather as I have the Tacoma Pro MT for that. This Tundra was bought for comfort and power on my trips and the once in a while donut run.IMG_4479.jpg

Do you want to stick with the natural shade of aluminum alloy, or do you prefer a darker gunmetal or black wheel?

If you’re looking to stick with a silver/natural aluminum shade the wheels on a 1794 or Limited (non TRD off-road package) will achieve your goal with a 20” wheel.

The wheels used on the Platinum are a glossy black/gunmetal color that would also work well with a metallic black truck if you like that look. They’re also 20” wheels.

If you prefer a 20” wheel and tire package but want something in a matte black the TRD Off-Road package wheels fit the bill.

You can also get 18” wheels in silver from the SR and SR5, but they’re not as “dressy”. You gain a lot more sidewall though, and that will probably give the best ride and resistance to pot holes, curbs etc.

Lastly there are the 18” BBS forged alloy wheels from the TRD Pro. All the ride and sidewall height advantages of the others, but in matte black, and due to being forged; easily the strongest OEM wheel available for your truck. Probably also the most costly.

You have a bunch of great choices to be honest.

    Great advice here.

OP, do some research. Look at what each rim and corresponding OEM tire weighs. It's counterintuitive, but tires with more sidewall weigh less. Low profile tires have to make up for the lack of side wall with more steel belting.

You have a good chance here to add more sidewall, which will add more comfort to your ride, and reduce unsprung weight. That combined with a lighter rim will noticeably improve your ride, handling and MPG, and make the Capstone ride worthy of its luxury title.

In my opinion, black rims on a black vehicle look sick. That's a nice looking truck you have, BTW.

Back in 2004 this happened to a friend of mine. He went through many hoops but was able to get the city to take responsibility and pay for the damages.

22" rims are really odd on a truck. I'm with the ones suggesting 17" or 18".

I was informed by the Toyota body shop that both tires are fine and not being replaced. I can't see how there is no damage to the front fire with a busted/cracked rim. I don't trust a tire that went through that.

To be fair to the tire fitters consider how much of a beating a 70k mile tire can have had and still not failed but try driving 2 miles on a rim at 70mph and it'll look like a practice part in a metal shop...

    Wheels.
I get your concerns and I’d want mine replaced just cause, too. I’ve seen a lot of tires that were still in safe condition after coming off wheels with quite a bit more damage then yours at the body shop I work at. Tires are a liability item and they could be on the hook if that tire failed and caused an accident so if they saw anything that looked even close to becoming an issue I’m sure they wouldn’t re use it. Just my $.02, maybe this lends some piece of mind for ya.

Exactly, and we're not all soy boy midgets who have to "climb up" into our vehicles. I'll take a fully loaded premium full size truck over some goofy POS bmw or audi or something. Some of you need to check if actually still have testicles.
