I've got a 2000 4wd access cab. The fender liner is installed, but there is a big "hole" or gap to the radiator support splash shield. Any idea what that part is called? My neighbor has a later model tundra and his fender liner covers the whole gap. Thanks in advance

I looked for pics of my truck in that location but I don't have any and I'm not home.

I didn't realize they still sell that lower plastic piece. I'm missing one of mine so I just don't run either one.

If all else fails, it's a safe bet you'll be able to find a JY nearby with it.

@BubbaW I thought the same thing re the liner. I picked up a new one from the dealer this week, but it appears to be the same liner that's in there (the dirty plastic piece to the left in the photo). If anyone has a 2000 or 2001 (or @NickB_01TRD ) that could take a peek in their driver side fender and confirm, that would be great. My neighbors is a 2004 and his plastic liner covers it up. My 2000 tacoma had gaps as well, so maybe this was normal. Doesn't bode well for that splash shield surviving long though.

$90.79 for a piece of plastic? Wow.

@KNABORES Thanks, that settles it. Not sure why they put that splash shield there without a full fender liner. Now off to replacing lower ball joints and wheel bearings. Thankfully these old trucks are easy to work on.

They are. Just make sure you use OEM lowers, or you'll regret it, but you definitely won't be the first to learn the hard way
