I'm looking for a tonneau cover for my 23 Limited. I am considering the Access Original.

It comes in two versions depending on whether one has the deck rail or not. My truck has the deck rail but I am unlikely to use it. Is there an advantage to removing it and ordering the cover designed for trucks without the deck rail? Thanks.

I just put on an Access (LOMAX) folding cover with the deck rails. Their hardware fits into the rails and works great! I would leave the rails on.

Thanks. That's what I was hoping. What finish did you decide on?

I went with Matte Black because it looked the easiest to clean.

I removed the deck rails on my 2012 to fit my Roll N Lock tonneau on, and regretted it numerous times

Is it relatively easy to remove that cover if you need the full bed open? I had a hard folding cover before and it was great for keeping water out but it limited my carrying ability.

Installed Access Lorado on my 2023 with deck rails yesterday. Had Access Original on my 2015 without deck rails. Prefer with deck rails way, way more..

Very simple to remove - fold it back, pull the release and lift it out.

Has anyone had luck relocating the deck rails lower? I am looking at the roll n lock cover that requires removing it. There looks to be plenty of room to move this lower, possibly just above wheel wells.

My Roll N Lock froze like a bitch in the winter....so if you live where things freeze......take warning

I also regretted removing the tie downs

Did the lock freeze up or along the rails? I live in the PNW and get a few weeks a year where this could be an issue. Cover on my previous truck was a BakFlip G2 and I would have issues with it freezing at the tailgate seal in the winter months.

Lock was fine because you can oil it.........it wouldnt roll up, basically be frozen to the box rails on each side. Further, if it was pouring rain and you rolled it up and loaded your gear, then pulled it back closed.......all the water that was on the cover would now drip all over your cargo. I would load my stuff and then throw a tarp over it and close it. Piece of crap for British Columbia

I hated that thing....I actually tossed it away

Given the choice I would always get the hardware that mounts into the deck rails. The other option usually clamps to the edge of the bed and does not fit as well in me experience.
