Hmm. You could probably throw the tire right on the cover and just strap it down. These covers are pretty robust and can handle it. I used to walk on mine all the time.

Either that or backseat it :notsure:

yeah thinking about the bounce factor on the cover. those 37s are 75lbs and the wheel makes it about 100lbs. that bouncing over whoops... damn...

Yup, going to try my hand at a swingout first. Might be a nice fall project.. give the wife a few months to cool down. Been spending a lot of time on the truck these days :argue:

Although I’m not sure that whole spare tire mount thing was necessary. Had more room in the back than I thought. The 17gal HD black/yellow totes fit perfectly under the canister so definitely could have made it work. Just moved stuff from 27gals to 17. Put the flex seal on it today. Doubt it’ll do anything but it makes me feel better:D

I do have to admit, pulling this rack to put a load of dirt or wood chips in the bed is going to take some effort…

    Truth!
Yup come to the same conclusions. I’ve just accepted the trailer life. Use the bed for toting around tools. Makes me appreciate the simplicity and effectiveness of someone like jakes build but neither Jake or my wife are shoveling half of Torrey pines state beach outta the back seat every October. Looking forward to being able to hose the kids off after the beach this year.

I thought the same thing...but its a perfect opportunity to buy one of those harbor freight gantry things! That's what I'm planning on.

Having a trailer is something you don't realize you need until you get one. Sold mine when I moved and now that I have to process firewood I regret that decision daily. I have a nice enclosed 16ft trailer but it's not the same as a dump or utility one.

That thing is sweet! Didn’t even know they sold that since it’s not on display in store and I wouldn’t go looking for it. You gunna get a lift at your new place :boink: Got room for it?

Casey seems like the kinda guy who’d lift with a pulley system hanging from a hand hewn barn he built in 3 days

I'm in escrow now. Close sometime mid-may. Garage is 800 sqft but previous owners built rooms in there so now it's 400sqft. Gotta tear those room down. But for now there's enough space. Garage has tall doors and cielings .

They still sell those gantrys gotta pick them up asthey don't ship them. I'm waiting for a sale to scoop one up. Get to use my enclosed trailer and validate me buying it. Don't use it as much as the open utility trailers.

Pressure washed my leaf springs as @BiggHertz recommended and sprayed some lube in between the leafs. Got rid of 70ish% of the noises I was having back there. Other noises most likely coming from bushings. Hopefully they stay quiet for a little bit. Easy task so will just do it every oil change or so.

So trying to mount my air compressor on my bannock mount and running into some problems. The morrflate adapter plates don’t allow for indexing without cutting them up/milling them out a bit. Easy task but not when you have negative time to work on the truck. 991E90A1-F4D4-4A99-A6FC-EACDC7B1A093.jpg

Just for giggles I checked the HF compressor I have in the garage and that is also non-indexable. 3642566D-CCA5-40BB-923A-77E4FA5ACD2F.jpg
After doing some research it appears only viair makes their compressors to be easily indexed. Looks like this project is on the back burner for a little bit.

Quick little lunch break project in the jersey mikes parking lot. Been meaning to do this for a while and finally saw @Jonnynewton909 do it. Couldn’t find my 10mm so still need to add another couple clamps and tighten the nuts down a bit. Also need to unplug passenger ditch light to allow split loom to close properly.
