Hey guys, im looking at lifting my 2013 Tundra 2.5 inches and leveling it. For suspension I am looking at the Bilstein 6112 Strut & Spring Assembled + Rear B8 5160 Reservoir Shocks Set from shock surplus. This is my first ever lift I am attempting, so I don't know what other parts I will need to complete this project. Any help or suggestions would be great!

I've never installed a lift kit before but I'll give you one tip. Start spraying down all nuts/bolts you're gonna be removing with ______ (insert fav lubricant here) about a week before the work takes place.

At that height you shouldn't need much more than the bilsteins. If you were going to 3" in the front you would probably need a front diff drop if its 4wd but at 2.5" you should be good without it. Same thing at that height you should not need new UCA's either. If you have the toyota lean (drivers side front sits just a bit lower than passenger side) you may want to add a 1/4" or 1/2" shim on the drivers side depending upon the amount of lean, but some don't need it, you'll have to measure. You may need a front sway bar spacer at that height, but I'm not 100% on that one. I needed one at 3" of lift so I would think you probably do too. It's a fun job if you are doing it yourself, take your time on it though and definitely soak everything with some PB blaster ahead of time. I know in the past when I worked on my older truck I would go out a few days ahead of time, soak everything I would be working on and do that daily for a few days prior to the work I would be doing.

Do it! Did mine a couple weeks ago, and I’m old! I had fun and mostly the satisfaction of knowing I did it right. Read all you can, watch all the videos you can. You’ll need tools, jack stands, floor jacks yada yada…44C77E36-2719-491A-9553-2CFE080085C3.jpg8CD88AC2-FE2C-43D2-A65D-3F3026C34322.jpg
Just finished and sitting about +4” in the front. I have dialed them down to about 2.5” since this pic. Toytec Alumas and shackles, JBAs, DuroBumps, you get the idea…Doing just the coil overs and rears, Do it!

Looks great. I’ve heard of others getting about 4inches on the top setting of the toytecs. That’s what I’m hoping to get when I install mine since I’m planning on putting icons and shackles on the back that will equate to about 3” of lift on the rear.

They were set at the factory, they also came down a bit after driving around a block or two. I drove it that way for a good thirty miles before I adjusted them down. Easy enough job though, I wouldn’t pay someone else to do it. For me, it was well worth it. Besides all that, they look cool and I gots a bunch of stickers!

PB blaster is the best. I have used it on some really bad rusted up stuff and it works great
