plan is to do a westcott front and readylift rear setup. Will report back results soon

 

That's what I would like to do but I can't justify the cost unless someone wants to buy the front lift part of the readylift kit from me.

 

Yeah, not a cheap setup. I'd imagine max I could get for it would be $40. Front spacers like these are cheap anywhere you look.

 

Unless you buy from readylift and it is $225

 

i installed the 2” ready lift kit front and rear on my truck and it didn’t really change the ride quality. I also put 295/60r20 toyos on it. Personally it rides the same to me I didn’t notice a difference.

Well here I am with the rear bump stops issue. Despite telling the dealer before buying to check it.........so any how. I crawled under there and the pass side is almost adj to max with just a little left exposed of slot towards bottom, now the driver side is almost completely the opposite being adj up towards top of slot.
Without having tech stream whats everybody's best advice?

Measure center hub to wheel well, crawl under and max both, re-measure, cycle your air up/down/neutral, drive around the block and re-measure. It should be fine. Every now and then my bump stops touch down but in reality, these are low rider trucks soyou need to expect that. It went like riding in a tank to riding in a Lexus. Note: , I put the truck in comfort mode at the dealer and that is where it will stay so that could have a bearing on my periodic touch downs

 

Start by taking pics of the bump stops and both levers and taking measurements as mentioned above. Come back with that info and we can proceed. I just maxed out both arms and called it good but I also have a 1.75" leveling kit

 

I matched the pass side with the dr side and now have a good result.
36 mm wrench for reference
Had two fingers before and a tight 3 finger after just adj pass side.
38 inches ground to fender on both side so I think I pulled it off?

Glad you figured it out. As future reference, height is measured from center of wheel hub (Think toyota logo) to the bottom of the fender/flare lip. This gives us a height measurement regardless of what tire size you are running

 

Thanks, I was wondering why center cap vs ground. Makes perfect sence and if the rain stops I'll try to re measure it.

 

38 is where mine sits and I am bone stock. I went out and measured mine with your " finger ruler "....3 fingers here as well Note that everytime you stop driving and shut it off, that 38 " has about a 1" variance either way for what ever reason. You will get the odd touchdown over huge speed bumps and shit, just cross them at an angle.

Another fun fact is last weekend I towed my fully loaded cargo (14') trailer for the first time.....truck sat perfectly at 38".....no ass sag . This air ride is the bomb

 

That's nice to know about the trailer as I have a 25 ft toy hauler I'll be Hauling this summer!

 

I'll have read the owners manual due having a wdh on the right procedure.

Oh and since my adjustment the air ride is alot better now. Thanks to all the contributors for solving thus. Now to just up the head lamps a little.

 

Has anyone tried different front springs in the front with ReadyLift kit in the rear? Would something like Dobinsons C59-840 work with AVS equipped truck and provide a better ride then Westcott or spacer lift in the front?

Almost, but I would like to retain the factory AVS shocks. What I am wondering is if anyone has replaced the front coils on AVS truck with a lift coil (like the one from Dobinson's) to achieve front lift but retained the factory AVS shocks. If this works it seems to me that a new front coil may result in a better ride then preload style lift that get mixed reviews ( Westcott).

 

Do you really feel a difference in the AVS settings? I didn't. Sorry that question isn't meant to be fight provoking but... This seems to be a common concern for the AVS and I don't understand the logic. Perhaps my ass/back isn't sensitive enough. It seems like all these trucks ride like cars compared to my 96 Dodge 2500. If there are bad back concerns - got it. This is an open question not just to you.

 

Maybe your road conditions don't vary enough but I can tell the difference on mine. I primary use comfort for rough rock roads and cobblestone streets as that setting allows the back to jump a bit on typical country backroads.

I do have my sensor arms adjusted to provide more rear lift to go with my front leveling kit though so less rear air with stock rear sensor arms or air bag spacers would handle differently.

Either way, while not super obvious unless the road conditions allow, I can tell the AVS is adjusting the shock dampening.

 

I too feel a pretty significant difference with the AVS settings. If you are trying all 3 settings back to back on a smooth road then you won't feel a thing. I drive a lot of twisty mountain roads daily and appreciate sport mode quite a bit too.

 

I haven't had my Tundra loaded that heavily yet but I plan to use Sport mode then too. On our GX460 with rear air and AVS, when loaded down, Sport mode significantly improves stability, especially when windy conditions are added in too. Makes all the difference. Figuring that to translate to the Tundra at least a bit too as extra air in the back with a larger load likely could use help from increased dampening too.
