Anybody else prefer the wide brake pedal we used to get with most automatic transmission vehicles? Any retro options for the new Tundra? Thanks.

its cause too many people in panic stops hit the wrong pedal cause they dont move your foot far enough with the wide brake pedal.

thinner brake pedal (width wise) means your muscle memory will travel farther

I don't have any issues with the width of this brake pedal. I feel it needs to go to the left some. I sometimes catch it when going for the gas pedal. I think they're too close to each other.

yeah i am guilty of this myself, too lazy in 4runner to move my foot at times so i do the heel ball trick. sometimes when i do that top of my foot slides off onto the gas pedal.

otherwise if you actually move your foot you can feather the brake pedal easier.

especially now with the new tundra and the SS. if you feather the brake pedal, you can negate SS from engaging.

Good thing that the TSS kicks in and slams the brakes on! :)

I was backing up and RCTA saw a branch from a bush and slammed the brakes on! Totally freaked out my wife.

I am old (er) , and am used to the wide brake pedal. Much more convenient for left foot braking. I know there are many reasons for not using left foot braking, but I like it when trying to creep up to something, like connecting to a trailer. Particularly if there is a bump or grade involved. This truck is unnatural/uncomfortable for that.

i find that a lot of left foot braker's tend to rest your left foot on the brake pad, inducing premature wear and higher brake fade on the pads. plus you can tell when the brake lights are constantly lit driving down the highway or other above 30 mph zones.

which means people wont notice when you hit your brakes since they wont notice the brake light lightning up since they are already lit up.

Yes, as I stated there are many reasons to not left foot brake. I am well aware of what I am doing. I prefer the wide brake pedal and would like to have one on my Tundra.
