Been shopping tonneau covers for a while and couldn't make up my mind. I mostly want some secure storage while traveling. Looked at a couple of the underseat solutions. Those are nice but don't offer that much space. Looked real hard at a couple of retractable covers but didn't really want to give up the space for the canister. Anyway.... buddy of mine at work had his car broken into. They got everything including his work laptop - really bad for him btw. So finally decided on the Diamondback HD. Go big or go home right! Looks like a beast. Supposed to be here in about 3 weeks.

2"CB shackles, bushings and 1 shim, lockerdown console vault, rear folding seat back mod, snugtop shell with opening side windows, 46g fuel tank, SDHQ sliders and hidden winch, Decked Drawers, Alcan leaf springs and got rid of the interior chrome
If I was going with a tonneau, that is the only one I would have looked at.

I have BAKFlip F1 and it's a very solid product. The only problem is that it tends to freeze during winter, making my bed inaccessible. If I were to buy another tonneau cover, I would go with Diamondback. Even if the tonneau freezes, I would still be able to haul stuff.

But then again, this freezing would not be an issue for you Texans.

Excellent choice OP! Been running my Diamondback HD for about 3-1/2 years now and it has been by far, one of the best purchases I've ever made. This thing has a thousand different uses and I'm just getting started.

A while back one of the locks broke internally. One quick phone call to Diamondback and I had two brand new locks in the mail two days later--free of charge. Can't beat a deal like that!

    Load-3.jpg

Dunno if you also included their Cross Bin in your order, but definitely something to think about. It sits low enough so that you can still reach into it from inside the box to retrieve stuff even when the tonneau's down-

Thanks. I looked into these and the ESP underseat options. Liked them both. Neither are really big enough for anything of size. I carry anything from fishing tackle to luggage, etc. I travel some and am not comfortable with leaving stuff in plain sight. I don't need the on-top carrying capacity of the Diamondback, but can definitely see myself with over 500 pounds loaded on top. I figure that I've I'm going to spend the money I might as well get the best - I hate buying stuff twice.

What's that white stuff in your pic? No kidding about that freezing. I think it got below 30 here once last winter.

Thanks Jack. I'm excited about getting it. I didn't order the cross bin but I really like that. I'd done the ammo can mod a while back and those work great for carrying the small stuff like straps and a few tools, but I may have to get that bin.

20170805_162222.jpg Awesome choice, true u going big. They pricey but u get what u pay for. U will love it. What's not to love. Trust me I've probably put about 10k in mods and this is still 1 of my favorites even though having it longer than most of my other mods. Great choice, you'll hate when u get your credit card bill, but besides that it's all love.

Same here ran into a fitment issue of my 27.5 inch pitbull growler quad tires and 2 of these showed up free of charge a couple days after my phone call. Very easy install and removal 10 min both ways, million uses, water tight, tools n valuables locked away, no freeze issues, built rock solid and durable and great company to deal with. Can't say enough about them.20170413_184111.jpg

Wish I could say yes and I'm that talented, unfortunate truth is I bought the truck like that with the factory spray in bed liner. I'm under the assumption that anyone with a 3rd gen factory spray in liner has the same badge, feel free anyone to correct me if wrong.

I think it was one of your posts that got me to looking at the Diamondback - so Thank You for that! I like the lighting that you did and really like those rails - how easy is it to fold completely over for tall stuff? Do you have to remove the rails?

Awesome, glad I can help in ur decision. Trust me if u love half as much as me, that's saying lot. The only part that bolts down or should say clamps down is middle. So, if u have something taller, simply flip up front and or rear section and slide off to side to remove. Only time it takes any more than a minute or 2 is if u need whole bed. I haven't had that issue yet. Everytime which is once in blue moon, I just removed back tail section to get taller things in.

I ordered directly from them in PA. Price was best thru them at time. Not long ago saw the SE version at auto anything for good price. Time of year don't matter imo.

I ordered directly from them as well. They do have some dealers but I don't know that any carry product in stock. One had free shipping, but had marked the cover up $150 (same shipping cost to by direct). Overall cost was the same. Best time to buy???? When you have $2k to throw at it!

Mine was around 25. With 2 folding ramps, side rails and 1 big rail to keep from falling off side when loading, plus black paint package. Still worth imo

They used to have an annual sale in the spring (April IIRC). That's when I bought mine and scored a 10% discount. Dunno if they still do that, but worth checking into. They also only dealt direct if you wanted the ATV carrier option, so that's something to consider too.

I initially bought mine with the low cab guard, and with cross-country shipping it came in right around $2500 with the discount. Unfortunately, my quad was too long to fit with that cab guard, so I had to switch to the full-height guard. They were awesome in working with me getting everything to where I needed it to be.
