While accelerating at exactly 40mph faint clunk/pop noise - culprit 100% = air dam.

    Build date 13 March, 2023

    Currently at 5xx miles.

**Edited - found the answer. Hooked up the go pro and wifi’d to the tablet in the truck.

Sure enough exactly at 40 mph the air dam drops. Then exactly at 45 the slats close.

They both open back up at 25 mph.

Thanks again so much for the help. Hopefully if someone else hears this it will answer the question.

Almost every time like clockwork -while accelerating exactly at 40 mph I get a very faint clunk sound from under the truck.

Not accelerating hard or soft….just normal driving. Windows up, A/C on or off is same result, on a quiter road (to hear).

Transmission is not shifting at this time nor does RPM drop.

Any ideas? Might be something totally normal…so I’m asking here for experience/expertise.

    * Air Dam activation looking like a very strong possibility.

Does the rpm drop when this happens? Then I would guess transmission issue. Sounds like a trip to the dealer is in order.

Do you have the active air dam? It deploys at 37 mph, according to the owners manual.

yup…clunk is probably not a good word to describe it maybe slap/pop

and the sound is super faint but you can def hear it

i made the air dam drop like 20 times….each time the noise.

air dam drops exactly at 40 mph

Mine was catching on the right AFE Tow Hook a tiny amount, couldn’t adjust the tow hook to completely clear and had to remove a small amount of material from spoiler. Super easy.
