I have the Maestro RR2 and I retained everything. I think what it is you need to have a head unit that has the iDatalink port on it. I have the Sony XAV-9500ES and it has an iDatalink on the back and the Maestro RR2 plugs directly into it and with a "T" harness made specifically for the Sony it's a plug and play setup. If you plan on replacing the Pioneer my recommendations would be either the Sony XAV-9500ES that I have or one of the Kenwood eXceion series like the DNR1007XR. Both of these units are a bit pricy but will not disappoint. They both have wireless car play as well as Android Auto. If you want to see what they look like mounted in the tundra check out the link I posted above to my stereo build. Towards the end you will see the pics I posted. I also go into the Maestro RR2 and show everything needed to install the radio. There is also a video I posted that you can hear before and after where I was getting a bunch of noise and how I got rid of it.

I have a Pioneer in the Tundra and a Kenwood in the Sequoia. Personally, it's Pioneer > Kenwood for me, but they're both light years ahead of anything OEM. The one thing that annoys me about the Kenwood is that we've got it synced to my wife's iPhone for CarPlay and every time she gets on her phone (she's in the passenger seat), if she's watching a video or using IG/browsing a site, it will interrupt whatever's going on with the radio. Very annoying.

Definitely agree with it being way ahead of the stock radio!
