Haven't been on in a while but did the unthinkable and traded in my 21 on a 23! We'll see how it goes. Only had it a day but definitely loving it so far

I love my ‘21 and haven’t fully jumped on board with the 3rd Gens but I definitely think they look better with a lift and 35s on some SCS wheels or Methods. Nice 3rd Gen though…hopefully they gave you a good deal on your ‘21.

I didn't get quite what I was hoping for but the market has dropped a little here. All in all, I feel like I good a decent deal. . . . And you're right. They look great with a level or small lift but I'll probably leave this one alone except for tint and some steps.

Congrats! I’m sure these will hold up without issues…it is a Toyota. My ‘21 Tundra is my first owned Toyota and I am forever a Toyota person now.

Tint and steps first off. . Then I'm going to try and leave it alone. . However. . Those tires are tiny

Honestly, I'm impressed so far. It does seem much bigger yet stronger and more nimble. I haven't driven it hard at all but throttle response seems better, doesn't seem to lazily roll around corners like the 21. . That may be due to it being the trd sport. Not sure. Even feeling more agile, it seems to ride a good bit better. . . When I get a few more miles on it and get my box of tools out of the back, I'll check back in. Lol

When you get ready for tires take a look at 275/60/20 Pirelli Scorpion Allterrain Plus. They improve stance and appearance without breaking the bank, firming up the ride with E load range and are very quiet for AT tire. Enjoy your new truck.

I’m coming out of a 4Runner, so when I drove the Tundra home from the dealership the most prominent thing I noticed was the massive proportions… total length, interior space and of course turning circle.
Secondly, the tech is almost overwhelming…!! I’m still getting used to and and fine tuning the various driver aids and customizable features. Mine is a Limited Crew non hybrid 4x4 without air suspension and panoramic roof and non off road package. But has all advanced tech packages and options other than that. Going to add the dash cam this summer….
Also, coming from the Runner ( 2010 Limited with 65,000 miles ) I can honestly say stepping out of it and directly into a brand new truck with like 4 miles on it, the 13 year old 4Runner felt more solid.
Fit, finish, overall build quality and driving ergonomics were typical of what I’ve always experienced with Toyotas. This New Tundra is a little less so. But still.. much better than anything the competition is offering.

All the trucks are thinner metal with more aluminum panels and plastic parts. All the 20 foot crew cab with all the safety, electronics and luxury gear would weigh 8000 lbs if it was all thicker steel like the regular and extended cab strippers if olden days

I won't disagree with that. All manufacturers are having to find ways to cut weight to get the mpg up.

You're exactly right on the tech stuff. Yours probably has more than mine and I still haven't been through everything. I will say that as much as I've always claimed to not care about any of that stuff, some of it has already been pretty nice to use.
You're right about coming out of a 4runner. Good friend of mine has one and I'm jealous as hell over it. That has to be be one of the best put together vehicles on the planet. I'd already have one if it was more capable of pulling my boat.

I almost cried when I saw my Runner drive off.. sold it to a relative so that’s the only thing that made it somewhat bearable. Before that I owned a first generation Tundra with the 4.7. The 4Runner pulled my trailer ok except at constant freeway speeds it struggled. So, decided on the Tundra.
And you’re correct…. That 4Runner was screwed together and designed like no other vehicle Iv ever experienced !!

well you cant compare a vehicle built in the tahara plant (4runner) vs the texas plant. i have a 2014 (11/2013)on 95k and not a single thing is wrong with it exept old age.

forgot to add, the tahara plant is the main lexus assembly line for most lexus models.

take that with a grain of salt :)

and that place is huge to run that many lines at once :)

Same here. Sold my 2005 4.7L AWD 4Runner to buy the Tundra. That 4Runner was 17 years old and had just crossed 100K. Built like a damn tank. The only thing I ever had go wrong with it was the charcoal vapor canister failed. It still had the factory rear brake pads with plenty of meat left when I sold it, if you can believe that.
