Hey guys it’s been awhile since I’ve been on here but I'm looking to order my second Tundra. I know Toyota dosent allow “custom” builds and their website has always left a bad taste in my mouth when it comes to ordering. Im looking for a Limited CM with the 6.5bed and tow mirrors. The problem is when you look at packages with the tow mirrors it makes you give up options im trying to get. For instance on the limited ordering page it doesn't offer a package with both tow mirrors and the Limited power package. And here is where the confusion comes in. I just watched a YT video where a dealer was going over a truck on their lot. It’s the exact one im after and has just about every option minus the TRD package. I took a screen shot of the options on the truck and when I go to Toyotas site to build it it won’t allow the options together that this truck shows? Do certain regions allow for different options to be added? Im I’m Denver and this dealer was in WA, that’s the only thing I can think of. Just wanted some clarification on this. Thanks everyone.

dont follow the website. ask the dealer to build an allocation reserve request in dealerdaily. what you can pick and choose and what restrictions you will run into is built into the allocation reserve screen. if the regional port doesnt like the options you pick, they will send a reply saying what is allowed and the dealer will re-pick options.

each regional port (outside of GST/SET) have certain requirements and restrictions on FIO/PIO. in my region, you couldnt get the AQ package w/o the RB package. i know of other regions where they would allow the RB package w/o the AQ.

Yes unfortunately it is a region deal. Before I got my truck I really wanted a limited with JBL, sunroof, and off-road package. I’m in Boston and although I’ve seen videos on that exact truck, it didn’t exist on NorthEast region website. I knew it was a $60,000 truck. With no regret I ended up getting a platinum for $63 with everything I wanted except the off-road package.

unfortunately, plats cannot come with the OR package period. if you wanted the OR package, you had to upgrade to the 1794 with all the same features as the plat. plus all the chrome and (imo) ugly interior colors :)

Not having the off road package is fine for me. I never needed a locker for what I did and don’t need it now. I really liked the black rims and better grill of the limited off road, but I like the platinum look so much better

yeah we always go plat since its usually the only higher trim that doesnt have much chrome. bonus this gen was that the only chrome is the mustache and grille. plus its dark chrome.

I’m with you on the Platty look but of course the website won’t let you ad Tow mirrors to it.

Like I mentioned earlier it must be a regional thing. When I go to build a Platinum it only shows two options and none have tow mirrors

Is dealerdaily something you can use without sales person interaction?

no you have to have a dealer id and user id tied to that dealer id to login into dealerdaily. and there is different levels of views depending if you are a salesperson or a sales manager.

usually a sales manager can do allocation reserve requests since you are defining a vehicle allocation to that dealer.

Well I just spoke with the only Toyota dealer in my area that doesn't do any mark ups and no dealer fees. I spoke to them about ordering options through the dealerdaily. I had two different people tell me if its unavailable to add on the website options wise that they are unable to do it on their side as well. Which is crap because in my region you can't even add tow mirrors to the Platinum trim on the website

unfortunately most dealers will NOT let you see dealerdaily. the transparent one's have no issue (like mine) and are nice enough to even print out a copy of the dealerdaily screen for me.

dealers that dont, think they are holding an ace in the hole against the customer, which is sad cause that little extra step keeps a repeat customer very easily (my family has bought like 15+ toyota's from them since 1990 and 3 ownership changes)

what you see in my pic is what you can order on a platinum and all the PIO you can add. now i know my region (kansas city) you can either get AQ package but it requires you to get the RB package. but you can get just the RB package w/o the AQ package. weird ruleset but meh. regional requirements unfortunately are above the dealer and the dealer has no say.

only way to get around that is to goto a different toyota usa region (GST/SET is a different clown car in itself)

    edited to clarify points.
