    Hello,

I have recently purchased a 2008 sequoia 4x4 and let me say that this forum has been extremely helpful, with your guidance I have been able to address a few things like fluid changes, 4 low flashing and just general vehicle advise. In the process of getting to know the vehicle I figured I get an alignment done (both rear tires when parked look like camber is off). Vehicle is stock with 140k miles, tires are good, was told during pre purchase inspections rear shocks are sipping a bit but nothing major, has really good maintenance records serviced by Toyota dealer has been in Arizona most of it life so no rust or frozen bolts. Took it for alignment yesterday to a local tire shop and this is where it got interesting. They spent 3+ hours trying to align front and rear and it the end told me that it needs eccentric bolts replaced because they cant get it to spec which seems a bit odd, and the front A arms need to be taken apart for that. Dealer records indicate alignment was done at 126k. I have a suspicion they may not be familiar with 2nd gen sequoia/tundra alignment? Reading trough the forum it seems like it may be a bit tricky for our vehicles. Anyway I think a trip to the dealer is my next move and hope that this shop just didn't really know what they were doing. I have included the print out they have given me Your input is greatly appreciated!

Cant seem to find anything related to eccentric replacement. Still wondering how bad the alignment is where to take it.

If you’re in AZ, I would recommend taking it to AZ Toy Pros in Mesa before replacing anything if you don’t believe they know what they’re doing. AZ Toy Pros seems to be the go-to place for people that need work done here. I haven’t personally used them, but plan to eventually.

Did they say why the eccentric bolts need to be replaced? Can’t imagine what replacing them would do unless they’re damaged or broken and that’s unlikely. They’re easy to replace. Just remove old ones and replace with new ones. But I would try another place first. Sounds like bs.

Thank you, interestingly enough that's where I always had my first gen Sequoia serviced, was always happy with them.

No they did not say, that's my feel as well, I was just wondering how common of a failure they are. I do hope they didn't strip them, sure sounded like they were hammering away with air gun at something.

Hope they didn’t try to air hammer the wrong side. That’s an easy mistake to make and will probably do some damage.
