I had the tsb done today for the hesitation issue. My truck didn’t feel any different driving home. It did seem to shift clunky and harsh. Can this be just in my head?
If not can a tsb be reversed or undone?

I’ve got this same issue seriously bad and am going in tomorrow to hopefully get it fixed. I’ll update after the dealer appointment.

I’d drive it some . Sometimes flashing components means they need to relearn some behaviors

Thats one thing that the dealer service techs fixed on my truck..
Few hard pulls and reckless driving during "test drives" helped with the hesitation now.. According to the Toyota app

And they helped to calibrate my JBL bass as they had to turn up the music during those test drives.

Not joking too, both of these much better now.

Just picked up the truck at the dealer. I learned they had already performed TSB-0111-22 at my last service visit. Since that visit about a month ago, the hesitation and surging and clunking has gotten worse. Might be the same situation as OP. The dealer said everything checked out fine, no DTCs, and the issue was not reproduced... and there is nothing more they can do. As I pulled out of the parking lot, I experienced the significant throttle lag... of course.
Not at the fault of the dealer that they were unable to find anything wrong (no DTCs etc...), but very frustrating in my $55k truck. Not sure next steps.
Looking forward to hearing about others' experiences.

Had mine updated today, seemed smoother and no hesitation or lag. Hopefully it sticks!

Alex, it truly makes me wonder if it was actually carried out properly. This TSB completely changed the way my truck drove. You could always pop the hood and see the sticker is there, recording the update. Likely its not, and you can take this forward to the service manager to have it done properly?

Had you mentioned to the dealership that you wanted this update carried out during your previous visit? These don't come up as regular updates for the truck, the tech has to seek them, I can't see for any reason why the dealership would have done this without request....they wouldn't have. These are only carried out if sought due to the subject problem occurring, they are not recalls. I mention all this because my dealership originally had issue updating my truck...."your truck is up to date, there is nothing available" which after long discussion it was realised it was needed.

    Best of luck

Adam, thanks. This has been in the back of my head since driving behavior didn’t change and the issue seemed to be getting worse. I didn’t know they install a sticker after a TSB. Where do they place it?
I have a conversation with the service manager today and will be raising this. Thanks for the insight about your experience.

Sticker should be located as such.

    Sticker.jpg

I think very importantly, why did they carry out a TSB on your truck during last service you didn't ask for? Why were you not notified at the time? If they did update the truck why where those issues(surgin/hesitation) not verified by the technician before the TSB was carried out(HAS TO BE). It all seems very "tech doesn't actually know how to update the truck" ish. There is a lot of questions and concerns that surround this "we already updated you truck last visit" I would be addressing with the service manager.

Very first part of the TSB repair procedure is to confirm issue.

    Repair Procedure
    1. Confirm the vehicle exhibits one or more of the following drivability-related conditions?
 Hesitation from a complete or rolling stop (worse when vehicle is cold).
 Surge condition occurring in 8th gear with 40 – 50 percent throttle.

Thanks… no sticker except the original from the factory. Appreciate the help. Hope to have a positive update later.

Had the TSB done last week during my 15K service. The differance between before and after is night and day. The hesitation and throttle lag are completely gone. Plus not sure it's related but my gas milage has increased by approx 1 mpg.

Agree 100%. Had mine done Monday and trans/engine response to throttle input is so much better. I’ve only made three trips to work since but my trip mpg has gone from 14-15 to 16-17 driving same route I always take. Last night tried sport mode also. You guys gotta try it. It felt substantially faster/ stronger than before TSB. Maybe I was having too much fun but almost had an oh #*+t moment ripping through some back roads. Nice work Toyota

Hey @tundraguy_2007 : any luck with your truck yet? Seems like most are having good success with the TSB except us. Wondering if the repair process was done incorrectly for both of us. I have a high level Toyota Tech traveling to my dealer next week who will take an additional look at my truck. Hoping to have a positive outcome from that.

Any idea if a basic autozone scan tool can read the Calibration ID?

It seems to be better. I believe it has adjusted or relearned my driving behaviors. In regards to the rough shifts.

Now when a reflash has been performed, most likely the learned shift characteristics may have been reset and transmission clutch apply timing needs to be relearned. Usually best by several light to moderate accelerations from 0 - 60 or so, that way transmission control module can relearn clutch apply characteristics

New to the Tundras site here. Happy to be here. I had my trans ECU flashed today after I told the dealer about the weird shifts, hesitation, holding gears/hanging rpms etc. It feels better than before so I will give it the "learning" cycle it needs and re-evaluate the situation but overall it felt better instantly. I also have a 2020 Highlander that is my wifes vehicle and that trans is wonderful. Shifts perfect every time and is probably one of the best transmissions I have ever driven.

Had my TSB done last week during an oil change. Feels like a completely new transmission, really smooth shifting and picked up some MPGs

On my 2022 Toyota tundra with 3600 miles, I had 7 alerts. Vehicle was non drivable. Cleared them by disconnecting ground on the battery. Brought it to the dealer. They stated I was supposed to have vehicle towed so alerts were active (attitude). I informed them I have had hesitation and surging issues and there was the TSB to fix this. When I got the truck back the receipt had no mention of the TSB being done, just that they updated the TCM. There is no TSB sticker on the vehicle. When I got the truck back, I scanned the ECU with Carista OBD and the Transmission code calibration ID 8A2100C03400 and 895386002000. Does anyone know if my calibration was corrected, and is the right one to fix this? This was not my purchasing dealer as I am 1000 miles away. I have a feeling they did not do the TSB. Any assistance appreciated.

His truck is a 2022. TSB should have costed him $0.

Where is this recommendation to do several full throttle pulls from a stop after the flash is coming from?

@ryanwgregg often your posts give the impression you are a Toyota mechanic or Technical Representative.

I reprogrammed by truck so that when I press the 'SOS' button it just emails @ryanwgregg instead of calling a Toyota Agent.

In my opinion giving people advise to do several Full throttle runs to 60 or 70 from a dead stop could get someone hurt.
I make mistakes all the time, but I try hard to avoid the big ones. I also know Ryan does a lot of good work and helps a lot of people on this Tundra forum.
