so I have a brand new 17 Tundra platinum and I'm being told that putting on a grille guard in the front would fuck up the censors for the truck. The grille guard is your average 3" black horse grille that comes just up to the bottom of the grille on the truck. Does anyone know if this is true or will the front censors still work fine? Does anyone have this done on the same model?

Well there's the "bull bar" and the "brush guard", somewhere I read one of these interfere with the sensors and they had to move unplug that one sensor.
But I don't remember the exact details. @Roman do you know?

I haven't heard that they would mess with any sensors. We've only installed a few bull bars, and no one has complained about anything not functioning properly.

    Welcome aboard from AZ
Go look at your bumper. You know where the sensors are right? If the guard or bumper you're buying is going to place steel in front of your sensor there's a pretty good chance it will interfere with the operation. If this space remains clear, probably, you will be fine.

@gosolo i can see on the front bumper that they are off to the sides which made me think that it wouldn't interfere but when I went to the place I normally get my stuff from they said it could give you a lot of trouble with the censors. @Roman have you installed them on 17's? I also don't know how far the range goes across the bumper for these things. Just wanted to hear it from another that they're wasn't any issues before I spend the money to buy it

    Danny,
You are asking the right questions and wise to make sure before you place your order. I wish I could be more help, but have not got exactly the knowledge that you need.

Welcome from CO. My 07 doesn't have sensors. I use my mirrors and check my surroundings. Not losing any sleep.

We haven't installed any on a '17 yet, but have had some installed on the previous year models. I know some bull bars are different than others, but we haven't had any troubles yet.

I just installed the Westin HDX 57-3705 on a 2017. No issues with the parking sensors. Most manufactures make that statement just to cover their rearend. As long as your truck doesn't have adaptive cruise control (correct me if wrong but I don't think any tundras have yet), you won't have an issue.
