Too much air will wear the center of the tread faster than the shoulders. Happens easier on the rear tires since there's less weight than the front, rotating them helps even out the wear if you remember to do it.

 

Hah, yeah anything I can do to keep my anonymity safe from all but the most serious googlers.

The more I think about that bumper, I'm wondering if you couldn't drill the top corner to throw a rope on it, then lasso a come-along over a big branch and bend it back up into shape...

 

Some days that's what it felt like on these roads. 2 weeks ago you couldn't have driven faster than about 10 without breaking some teeth.

 

Man thats a lot of headache. I just leave a note in the window that says 2 free cats. No takers yet though.

 

If you need any recommendations for not cal and OR let me know. My friends and I have found some awesome spots all over that area.

Yes Ill gladly take any recommendations you have! Im leaving Saturday morning, so still researching areas I want to explore. But thinking of going up the 5 to about Sacramento, then cut over to the 101 up to Eureka area and then not really sure where from there. Stay on the coast into Oregon, or head more inland into Oregon. Would really appreciate any info you have.

Also forgot which one of you guys recommended Jedidiah Redwoods campground, but it looks incredible. Probably gonna check that out on my way, and Avenue of the Giants.

 

Yep. Fronts could probably go to 1" spacers but they don't work with OEM wheels.

 

They don’t have the fancy recess between lug holes? Need to trim the studs if you want to use them?

 

No, I guess that’s wrong. It would be the other way around wider is less of a stud issue.

 

As a kid we used to camp at Gold Bluffs Beach in that area, look it up- I haven’t been in 30 years or so, but recall it being very nice, worth checking out anyway.
The Oregon Dunes are awesome too, if you go that far north.

 

Yeah, no recess or opening on OEM wheels.

I could trim the studs so the wheel doesn't bottom out against them on a thinner 1" spacer... but then I'd probably have to replace them later on.


Or I could get SPC uppers to retain my camber and suck the lowers in a bit. I have them pushed wider for -0.5 camber currently. I was getting too much outside edge wear at -0.3 camber the way I drive.

 

But they look good so…I would be done.

 

Those are definitely good spots. If you stay along the coast Usal beach is a good spot if the weather is good. Once your in Oregon Talon just north of Ashland has some fun logging roads that you can free camp on. If you want to go more central. Oakridge is an amazing spot. Nice lake near by with plenty of fish. If you mountain bike you will find yourself in paradise. Lots of more fun logging roads as you keep heading up I would go to Alsea falls. Lots of official and un official camping. More good biking. And lots of beautiful hiking. Thats what I got for you

It's a miracle! Griot's Trim Restorer is good shit! It's not wax-on/wax-off simple, however. I had ~ 20 years of grime, wax, and all kinds of schmootz baked on. Even though I cleaned it thoroughly with soap and a scrub brush, the result was still uneven, but not as bad as it was. Finally I scrubbed it with a scotch brite pad, re-applied the Griot's, and got a uniform result. I found it helpful to remove them first so I could work at the kitchen table. Let's see how long it lasts. I have used Meguiar's Ultimate Black on other cars...looked good, but did not last more than a couple months.

 

Mothers back to black didnt even touch mine.

 

Maryland doesn't get that much sun. How did it get so bad? My splash guards aren't even close to needing any sort of treatment. Bumper trim and side molding maybe.
