Pumpkin options

Hey guys and gals. So am I limited to just using the 3.92 pumpkin in my 06 SR5 or are there other better options? I learning as I go. I want to Make my Gen one a real badass and the rear end is next on my hit list to change.

 

I don't know about the pumpkin options, but you may want to consider a harrop supercharger...best bang for your buck!!!!

But definitely one my long term list goals is to supercharge this blue bitch.

 

Your rear gearing options are pretty wide. Your particular use would help determine what would be the best setup. Wheel and tire choice, towing, not towing, upgrade to locker or limited slip etc. 4.10, 4.30, 4.88. and on are available for these trucks. If you're 4WD, you gotta do the front diff too.

 

You can definitely re-gear your differential(s). Some trucks came stock with 4.10 gears, but 4.56 and 4.88 for instance are readily available aftermarket for the 8.4" Tundra rear end.

This chart is a good starting point, but your use case is a big factor as well.

• Cab type (DC, AC, RC for double, access, regular)
• Trim package (Limited/SR5/etc.)

I know the 3.92 and 4.10 were available in Tundras and Sequoias in open and limited slip. Is 4.10:1 the highest stock ratio available, or was there a 4:30?

 

There was a 4.30 available for early model v-6 trucks. Might have been manual only.

 

Off / On topic . . . where can we find the gear ratio on our trucks?
I know mines got the Limited Slip . . . the tag is still on the pumpkin, and I visually confirmed.
2006 DC 2WD SR5 w/ towing package.

 

Vin number on the owners site I believe? Or the old turn and count

I think the DC only had 4.10's for '04. Everything else was some flavor of 3.9 (note there is a slight difference in ratio between 2wd & 4wd, due to actual tooth count).

 

I've been thinking about 3.73's, but i aint got no sense.

It's counter intuitive but I get better mileage with 4.10's than I did with 3.9's.

 

Yea, i get better milage with overdrive off under 55. But i wanna swap in a manual 5 speed.
