Being desert dwellers I'm sure a lot of folks aren't wild about camping in the desert because it's not novel, but it may be the only place that isn't soggy in two weeks.

we went up Saturday and connected with a resident who lives behind the gate. They allowed us in and accompanied us to the site for a first hand look. I posted in here a page or two back about it.

Our first priority is preservation of the land and will adapt to the situation if the USFS doesn’t open the road and campsite in time. We’re in constant contact with them about the status.

I identify something along the lines of flag waving educated redneck. I grew up on the farms and lakes of Northern Ontario, Canada (summers and a few winters).
