Tundra Icon RXT Pack +/- CB +2 Shackles?

With my Rack and RTT set up, I am running minimum 250lbs in the bed plus gear on trips off-road/on road camping etc.
Lately I am noticing my rear end is sagging more than before (105k on the clock), so I am looking at ordering the RXT Pack from Icon and running option 2.

I do have a set of brand new CB Shackles +2 that I am considering installing with them.
Would this stack the lifts for something crazy like a 4” rear lift? I am just hoping to ride level with weight in the rear, and okay with a small rake unloaded. I never take my rack off so there is always some weight back there. Currently running TRD Pro shocks, everything else stock.

Wondering if I should just go with the RXT pack, or if there is a benefit of running with both?

I'd go RXT only. My '07 DC has bed bars, an FSR tent and awning. Plus a toolbox/house battery system. RXT in config #2 gave me ~2" lift with all that weight. If it ever sags down I can go for more with #3 setup.

Heads up the RXT springs, they have a lot of droop, so check that your shocks aren't the limiting factor. Mine went ~1.5" past where my Fox 2.0's stopped at.

keep an eye on your brake lines, ABS, parking brake and diff breather lines as well.

 

I would not add extended shackles if you have the ability to move to option 3 on the RXT. These leafs are pretty soft as it is, so I’d be worried about flattening them really quickly with the added shackle geometry.

 

Good call. I was able to get brake line spacing with the OME bracket kit. Diff breather I rerouted at the same time and ran to the tail light area. Parking brake either spaced with the OME kit or I was able to bend it for more clearance.

 

Thanks for the advice here, sounds like just the RXT pack is the way. Might have my CB shackles up for sale soon then.

Will look into the lines as well, no posts I saw on here mentioned anything about that so really appreciate the heads up.

 

I’m only here to confirm what these yahoos already convinced you to do - skip the shackles.

 

Let me know if you sell the shackles. I have a friend that needs some.

BTW, the RXTs are great! Save the extra leaf and to go option 3 later on if they flatten.

 

Could you elaborate on combining the RXTs with extended shackles. I recently added some +2s to go along with my RXTs on option 3. I found that I was squatting when fully loaded (GFC, rear bumper, 110# spare, gear). Wondering now if I made a mistake.

 

I’m right there with you. My RXTs are already at option 3 and my truck is just a little more squatty than I’d like, and I need another 1”-1.5” to get that sweet spot. My plan is to add a slightly longer shackle as well. I’m also using SumoStop bumps.

 

I have Stage 8 Icon kit with RTX and I use option 2. I solo camp so the weight is minimal when not camping.

 

Option 3, stock shakles... 7gal spare fuel, 8 gal water, jackery 880, iceco vl45 with 2 days provisions/beer and slide. sitting on 295 70r18, icon omega 2.5 bypass. C4 overland bumper with warn evo ve 12k winch on Icon 3.0 coilovers and full armor..and likely 150lbs of tools and recovery gear in the rear of the cab. Additional load in bed ezup. table, camp chair, std other camp and cooking stuff...
aired down to 15lbs.
not sure of what the current lift height is

likely total weight is 7500-7600lbs

 

If you actually use it offroad, longer shackles will flatten your leafs quicker... unless you also install longer bumpstops... which doesn't seem optimal. That's a universal thing, not specific to these springs.
