Just bought a new 2023 1794 with the TRD package. I'm a huge Toyota fan, but this kind of shoddy workmanship and build quality on an almost $70k vehicle is totally unacceptable. Both my rear doors look like this?!?

The fact that Toyota even sent it to the dealership like this speaks volumes for how much they've potentially gone down hill. My 2.5 gen has no issues like this. Trim on it is rock solid even if I push on it... Not so much on my 2023.

If they'll push stuff out like this where you can see 10 feet away, imagine the shoddy job they did elsewhere that you can't see?

Congratulations etc6849 on your new 2023! I understand your fury re: the window trim! I can tell you however not to worry, this is a minor issue you can easily fix yourself. Many of us have swapped our window trims (myself included) either to change color or dechrome as I did. Your chrome trim is very high quality, and does not look damaged at all. It is simply not firmly fixed to your door frame. The plastic molding at the back also just needs to be repositioned. While you could do this yourself, I suggest you take it back to the dealer and have them do it for you.

If your dealer isn't nearby, I'd suggest not being afraid to push down firmly along the bottom frames. You will feel them "lock" into place once they're on correctly. This will move the connected two parts closer together and create the finished look you're seeking. The chrome rear door versions have a "hook" connecting them ensuring they stay together. I made the mistake of buying the "matte" black trim (w/o the hooks) eventually pulling those off and going with the black gloss (perfect, same as your chrome). I have some threads w/pics about this process on the forum. Good luck and have fun! Congrats on your sweet 1794, pls post pics of the entire ride!
