Lot of speculation in that article.
I'd seen a translated interview not too long ago with the two CEOs. What I got from it was the plan is to sort-of skip over electric & focus on Hydrogen. They'd continue with hybrids & dabble in electrics, but the true future focus was going to be hydrogen. They felt it more scalable & that would also allow them to be in the forefront of something rather than playing catch up with full electric.

Huh. Never listened to these guys before. Not that it's necessarily in my wheelhouse of music to seek out, but ... they're pretty good.

The drummer is stylistically a LOT like Danny Carey (of TOOL). Stylistically in both how he actually plays, and structures.

Yeah they’re way different than most of what I listen to, but mathy-metal with lots of melody always catches my ear. I actually don’t care for much of their music but that one song is fantastic.

You ever listen to Deafheaven? Their first album, Sunbather, is totally worth a listen.

All this music and I might have to upgrade my “shit-tastic” head unit after all. ;)

Just tossed it in the queue and giving it a listen. Intro to the 1st track I instantly thought of Sparta. Then all the screaming started

Yeah haha I didn’t know what to think of them first time I heard them, but I describe them as Explosions in the Sky with a double-bass blast-beat drummer and a cracked-out orc singing. I like some metal and space rock, so this group kind of handles a niche I didn’t know I needed handled.

A couple of their members have a side project (different singer and different drummer) called Bosse-de-Nage that I like way more because they are more post-hardcore than metal, less space rock, but still maintain a lot of the unique guitar work and chord progressions. And the singer sounds like Mr. Krabs if he had neck tattoos.

Yup, the artistic wall-of-sound from the gutiars was very Explosions in the Sky to me, literally my 1st thought while listening. But a little less ethereal. And yeah, if i'm being honest, the screaming is a bit off-putting for me. It's almost like he's trying to use his voice as an instrument, but it comes off more like a toddler strumming a guitar without holding a fret: Monotone, soulless, indistinguished.

Need help. Fancy new water heater, it rules. But exhaust took the spot for my tandem. Who can help me find it a new home? I’m thinking maybe I can shove it between the door tracks but it’s tight tight tight there.

    image.jpg image.jpg
the holes before and after the exhaust are where the hooks used to be.

Oddly still quite dark. But shuffling the lights for the latest layout is the next task. I’m stumped on the bike situation for now.

i understand what your talking about now. How heavy is the tandem? Can it hang from one wheel? Excuse my poor doodle.

That’s an idea but man it would be in the way. We don’t have the wifi module (yet) for the tankless and it’s cool to adjust temp cause it’s applied immediately.

the stupid standup desk spot isn’t permanent at all, just out of the way for now. I’ll set up my workbench space once I’m done with lights.

I’ll get some photos and maybe someone can un-f my head on this one. For now it’s just side by side which effectively means I get zero garage spots for any trucks. Which I guess I sort of realized a while ago but I’m salty about it.

    image.jpg

Gotta build up that bike for the sister in law’s kid and then I’ll use the box to send T2 some chrome.

According to the reports 49 are missing, I'm betting those missing were the drivers of those trucks & excavators that were buried!

This shot was seconds before the mountain to the right fell in on them! YIKES!!

Damnit, all I had was a mediocre coffee brown ale this eve. And I was supposed to get beer on the way home today but failed. Meh.

When I had a shitload more going thru my shop, I just used this on gearwall. I setup 2 sets of gearwall single slats spaced 14" apart center to center (1/2 of 700c, eh) then used these hangers to hang the bikes head to toe. I could store about 10-12 bikes IIRC.

May not do anything for your tandem, but maybe it could free up space for the other bikes, or it gives ideas. I'll PM you a pic. Finally managed to recover my NAS data after the old QNAP crashed. Just threw away about 1/3 my damn wheel/tire money to make it happen, buying a compatible unit to transfer disks and cards into :(
