I expect west coast people to rate CaliMex above all. Not sure if it's true, but literally every Californian I've ever asked rates theirs at the top. I've had authentic Mexican food in Mexico and I've had California style Mexican food in Texas. Both were great. But I'm firmly in love with TexMex. We bring the queso like no other and I'm a cheese addict.

It wouldn't be right. You gotta have it fresh. But seriously... TexMex will put cheese on just about everything. We also focus more on beef and chicken and pork. I noticed CA usually focuses more on seafood. I love fish tacos and shrimp quesadillas

There’s a spot in flag, I’ll recommend once I remember it, it’s not hometown Mexican but it’s pretty damn good by my standards.

I'm sorry but we just got our first Buc-ees in TN and I'm not a fan. It's like what you'd get if a Cracker Barrel and a Truck stop had a baby. Every redneck within 50 miles is going there like it's an amusement park. The gas is actually cheaper at surrounding gas stations. The food is decent though.

I was trying to think of anything unique to Tennessee I could bring you all to try. Maybe I'll bring some moonshine.

Yeah the food and the bathrooms are the attraction.. also the various types of gear is great when you realize you forgot something on a road trip or camping trip. Their gas is expensive.

It’s the one place that I visit multiple times while I’m there, kinda a “college ritual” didn’t go to school there but my buddies did, and usually ended up there at some point. There’s gas and groceries stores right near there too for any other supplies. You Texans will like flagstaff, it’s a super cool city, just the traffic sucks a big flashlight!!!!!

I grew up with my mom making kolaches every few months. I’ve still got the recipe.

Not that I’m gonna volunteer to make any - that’s just too much fucking work
