I was driving down the road today, a road I was not accustomed to and there was a stop sign behind a tree that I could not see... Well I slammed on the brakes and I'm fucking terrified.

My brake pedal got pretty stiff and the truck was barely braking, then all of a sudden the brake returned to "Normal" then the tires screeched and came to a really rough stop.

The brake and traction control light came on and the VSC light started flashing... As soon as I got to my next stop and restarted the vehicle all lights turned off... This has never happened before, but I've also never needed to stomp on the brakes. This is pretty damn concerning, where do I even begin?

    Thanks!

You could take it to the dealer or trusted shop and ask for a brake inspection.

Almost sounds like caliper pins were stuck/frozen

Did some Diag and was able to pull code c1310, followed some steps listed in the protocol and it’s points to replacing ABS control module …

the part alone is $900 and can’t really be done at home because it needs to be calibrated. I assume it’s going to be close to 2k to fix….

I would still pull the calipers first to make sure they are operating freely.
