Well, after a long wait my residence card is on its way and I will finally be able to join the military!! Been waiting over 5 years to be able to do this. Have already started talking to my recruiter getting paperwork done and polishing up on my math for the ASVAB ( seems to be the only week point as of now, havent done math in ages lol) anyways, come August-September i should be heading to Basic Training following my dream to be a Marine.

Congrats to you! Which job? I signed up for the Air Force reserves...did the ASVAB, medical clearance, physical, etc...and backed out at the last minute. With the job I chose, i would be gone for 7 months straight (basic + job training) and I cant go that long without seeing my children...especially my now 2 year old.

I want an engineering job thus the studying portion. What exactly I still don't know. Might go commissioned officer right off the bat with my college degree. I want to do this before I have kids. Just the wife and I for now. She will have a whole year probation in her new job (PD) so she won't be able to move with me whenever I get stationed

Like sean I also am involved with the body building world but more so on physique. When the recruiter asked "how fast can you drop the 26 lbs, 2 months?" I laughed I can get there in 3 weeks

If you're on the physique side, why do you need to drop 26lbs? If they say you need to fall in their weight/height chart...that's not true. I was like 20lbs over what their weight chart called for and they knew I wasn't obese and cleared me from it...I also couldn't do the exercise where your arms are out to your side, fully extended and you have to touch your shoulders with your thumbs (like you're flexing only keep bringing your thumbs down when you bring your arms in)...I could only reach 1/2 way to my shoulders, LOL...it's a flexibility exercise while the doc checks to see if there's any pain involved...they excused me from that, lol.

I took this whole year off not dieting and no plan for a show so I took it easy the weight doesn't matter if you're under 18% which atm I'm not.

I just EAS'd (End of Active Service) last september and I will tell you that if you wanna keep your size just keep your waist slim and your neck huge and you'll pass the weigh in no prob. I'm not sure if you've done it yet but if you're over weight standards they get your body fat % by taking your height and use a measuring tape to get the circumference of your waist and neck separately and use the chart to determine your %. Google MCO 6110.3 and look at enclosures three and four if you want to see where you're at. Trust me after all the random weigh-ins and trying to bulk up thats the only way to beat it. Unless you want to be a walking twig lol. I have never failed a weigh in and I am 5' 6" 180lbs. The MAX weight for my height is 170. As long as they ship you out to bootcamp you'll lose the weight after the DI's run you into the ground;) But good luck anyway, you can do it!
