Not sure if you're talking about CoDefendents or Get Dead
I'm really not a huge fan of co-deez. The 3 masterminds behind the project are Fat Mike, Sam King from Get Dead, and Ceschi. Sammy's band Get Dead are far better than CoD's IMO. ...and this is why we started.https://www.tundras.com/threads/the-underground-punk-and-metal-thread.110421/#post-2849589

Not a pain I'd wish on anyone. It wouldn't be so bad for me if it were somewhere on the outside of my body, but it's excruciating and deep interior, where no amount of rubbing, punching, icing, or anything else would help.

Absolutely. First one I had I bent down to pick something up and got a sharp pain. Person that was there immediately asked if I was ok because I went white as a sheet. 5 hours later I left the ER with a prescription for hydrocodone and flowmax and they said we'll see you again later for the bigger one.

Lucky! They didn't figure out what my problem was until I was in my mid/late 20s and had already been thru almost half a dozen ER visits. Shot of Toradol in the ass usually knocked it out in 5 mins or so.

If you like Get Dead, may want to give a listen to Gunmoll if you're unfamiliar. Anger Management in 5 Chords or Less is a go-to. I don't think they ever made it out of Gainesville, they were labelmates w/Hot Water Music, saw both live a few times waaaay back. Lead singer takes some acclimitizing, same way Hot Hot Heat tends to hit a lot of people weird.

Yup, LTJ was local to Gainesville, same w/HWM and Gunmoll. I wasn't a huge-huge LTJ fan, but I liked HWM and Gunmoll. Gunmoll has a pretty solid Jawbreaker vibe to them. They all played at a lot bitd, I saw many a show from each.

I've honestly never heard of Gunmoll, and I'm an instant fan. Looks like they had a good quick burst and burnt out early '00's, which is a shame. I definitely see similarities in the vocal style to that of Get Dead, probably more than any other singer I've heard actually. The music has a heavy Jawbreaker feel to it. So those are two of my favorite bands. Thank you. Get Dead is one of those bands that don't belong to any genre and anytime someone asks who else they sound like I have to say "nobody"
    You're welcome.

I'm still listening to Gunmoll and hearing some Braid in there now. You famiiar?
    BTW, it's 4 chords or less, but who's counting...:boink:

Fun fact; Coda-fendents is a song title on Codefendents new album. Check it out @shifty` they've got the D.O.C. on a track. DUI accident took his voice some 20 years ago or so, but I assume you know who he is. The track he's on is Fast Ones. He laid the old school beats behind it as well

I'm not super into easy listening punk (I don't know what else to call it... radio friendly?) but it's not bad. A band you might like is the Generators

Correct. He was then in a car accident, almost died but just lost his voice instead. That's what ended his rap career. He continued to work in the music industry, making music. Did you listen to it? The dude a cool ass legit OG. You watch any of Fat Mikes podcasts? Sammy fro Get Dead was a co-host on alot of them and D.O.C. was a guest one time. That's how they got all hooked up to do CoDeez. Sammy was actually living at Fat Mikes LA house for a minute. Watch the podcasts

I didn't listen to it yet. I will now.
I'm not a huge fan of Fat Mike's. I don't have an issue with him. I just don't find him or his music that interesting. I like a handful of NoFX songs. I like the Gimmees cover of the James Bond theme song "The Spy Who Loved Me"

Oh, well the Gimme's do a shit ton of great covers of classic songs. That's the singer from Swinging Utters tho. Fat mike can be a douche, and says some off-the-wall offensive shit, but you can't not respect him for what he's done for punk music. It's funny if you watch thru all the podcasts you can see him and Sammy progressively get more irritated with each other. By the DOC episode, which is #11, it's comical.

Heh. I could show you some Braid schwag from eons ago. I've got a bunch of stickers and screened posters from their shows over the years. Last show I went to was the reunion tour back in '04ish, I drove 4hrs up to Nashville to see them b/c I was traveling for work when they passed southbound thru ATL. I was a pretty big fan.

Bob Nanna is a really talented dude, I look up to the guy. Some of his other projects like Hey Mercedes and The City On Film were way too soft for my taste, though. Braid benefitted from the tension and conflict Chris Broach brought to the band. I think he/it ultimately broke them up? I remember reading a story saying something like that, he and Bob didn't mix.

There was another side project Bob Nanna was in, The Sky Corvair, you may like if you haven't already heard. Lots of throwback vibe to edgy Braid stuff. He's periodically on vocals, mostly drums. Their song Carpetbagger resurrects a lot of the vibe and sound the band Soulside (on Dischord records) put out. Another one of my nobody-really-listened-to favorites.

Yup. You may not have caught my tag line a few weeks before the album dropped. I was listening to a leaked copy that week. Note the date on the black border, from Google Search Cache. Album didn't drop til a couple weeks later :D:

And hey, on the general topic front, random-ass, but did anyone else see?

Either this guy is really goddamn tall, or Dodge got really f'n smart, and has basically ripped off blatantly the design of 1GT double cab with their new electric. How the hell is Toyota not doing this? (Oh yeah, I forgot, they're too busy lobbying to prevent electric cars because they're technology isn't up to snuff yet...):

Fiat building an electric truck sounds like the beginning of a bad joke. Maybe they'll get some help from lucas.
