Anyone else have issues with the finish on any CBI products? It was new and installed in 10/2022 so it’s not that old. I’ll be reaching out to CBI next but wanted some opinions from all the knowledge on this thread.

Oh man that sucks. I just got mine 03/2023 last month. Haven’t installed yet. Maybe I should
    re-powder coat it before install.

I built a jeep years ago and ordered everything powder coated. Over time it chipped away and I couldn’t touch it up.

I think this time around, I am going to rattle can everything.

I Have cbi skid plates I ordered raw and had to brush them before spraying.

    Alot of them
Powdercoat doesn't last unless done correctly. It's hard to get a perfect job on mass production parts. N-Fab is know for this. I went for the Line-X'ed route on my stab bars and bumpers. We have a full set of CBI skids on the 4Runner. No fitment issues at all. I'll have to look at the powdercoat on them....they have been on for about 9 months or so.

Actually, not that extent, but seeing some surface rust on the inside of the d rings. Also I’ve had some rust water leakage from spots where welds aren’t full enclosed between two pieces. I think I’ve mitigated those spots. But the d ring thing. Just waiting to see what happens. If it gets like the OP, I’ll probably take mine to have it line-x coated or something. Which, kinda wish I would have ordered it bare and had that done to begin with

I agree, I should’ve ordered it bare also.
Looks good though. I got the same one as yours.

Maxx Powell had this very topic come up in his you tube channel. Sounds like a a number of poor powder coat issues recently. A couple other guys I know that have had this bumper had no issues with it. That’s why I got it powder coated by CBI. Not many options to get that done here, but I probably just should have gone to the local line x. For now I might hit those little spots with some matte black rustoleum
