Hello all, I am looking to add wheel spacers to my tundra of about 1.25”. I did some post searching and see that spiderttacks or bora makes a quality product. My question lies with the design. Would it be a better idea to just replace the stock studs with longer studs and place a hub centric spacer between? Or go with aforementioned design? Thanks.

Thanks for the link, but I’m not sure how this has anything to do with what I was asking. Plenty of people have spacers that don’t end in the wheel coming off.

What are you trying to achieve? Do you want your wheels sticking out more? Extended lugs won’t do that. But they will offer more bite or threads. I run a 2” wheel spacer on the rear with no issues and check them regularly.

I want them to come out a little bit. What I mean by the longer studs is to place a hub centric spacer in between and essentially having longer studs in order to engage enough thread. Instead of having a spacer that bolts onto the existing lugs and having their lugs of their own.

I've run 1" and now 1.25" spacers. The 1" were generics but lasted me 3 years until they started messing up my hub studs. Now with the Boras, no issues but I've also not had them as long. I torqued them to spec and also used loctite.

I just installed the Bora 1.25 spacers last week, so can't speak to their longevity, but they came recommended from lots of folks on here. They've been great so far and give the truck the exact look I was going for.

Definitely don’t do the spacer thing with extended wheel studs..!! I have Ichiba spacers on the Corolla for many years that are different front to rear to set track width for handling purposes. I push that car extremely hard through the corners at some ridiculous speeds. Had Bora make some 19mm spacers for the Runner back in ‘15-‘16. Ran them for several years with no issues also.
As with anything wheels, brakes, suspension related… do not go the cheap route !!! Get a good quality part and buy it directly from that manufacturer to keep from getting an imposter part. Bora, Spidertrax or the like. Proper installation, preparation and torque is key. I periodically pull the wheels, carefully inspect the spacers and studs, and re torque. Regardless of vehicle, if the rims don’t mount to the hubs hubcentricly I would not recommend spacers.
