    Morning all:

I'm not even sure what to search for to see if this is possible, so here's a new thread. I have a 2020 with a cap, and I'd love to somehow run power to the bed so I could plug in tools/batteries to charge off of my truck. Is this even a thing?

I'm handy enough that I've done most of my mods myself, but never messed with electrical to that extent. Any suggestions?

You just need to run an inverter from the battery to the bed of the truck.

I would recommend running it through a switch in the cab so it's only on when you want it to be.

Search bed power and click the box that says “search titles only”. Loads of threads come up. And good luck

Sounds like you want AC power to run tools. You can install up to a 1000 watt power inverter, the stock alternator should be able to supply enough juice to it.

Lots of folks on here have done it lots of different ways. You need to determine how much power you want/need, then figure out how to tackle it.

I'm running a 10g wire fused at the battery down the driverside frame rail up behind the driverside tail light. The run is 16-20' so should be good for about 15 amps (enough for my needs). I plan to add a 12v panel that I could plug a small inverter into if needed.

Some guys have put an inverter in the cab, and run a 120v plug cut into the bed.

Some are running a massive 0ga to be able to run a rear winch.
