2014 5.7 magnussen supercharger (100k on it)- 175k miles now on org engine and trans... still runs like a raped ape.

What are you all experiencing w high mileage trucks? Hopefully the same

First, Welcome from LA (Lower Alabama)! I can't speak to high mileage with a SC, but 175k on OEM is not really high mileage for a Tundra. Lots of folks here have way more than that.

Not really high mileage, but 2017 5.7 Magnuson supercharged as well. Only ~90K on truck and 34K of that with the supercharger.

When I traded my 09 last year at 113k which is almost nothing to a lot of people the engine and transmission felt like new. The only significant non wear and tear maintenance expense on the horizon was that I'd been nursing a coolant leak for awhile.

I sold my 2006 (with 225,000 miles) to my daughter in 2018 so I could get my 2018 Tundra. Still going strong with 300k+ miles (original engine/transmission).

@snivilous has some slow miles lol there’s no concern on the drivetrain if regular maintenance etc is done. Had my blower on for a year and many others have blowers no issues

Back in 2007.

He drove it until 220-230k. He did 4 oil changes on it. 4 oil changes in 230k miles . Never serviced anything. No brake flush. No coolant flush. No spark plugs. No diff fluid. Just one serpentine belt that was barely hanging on at a gas station mechanic, for $120. TOTAL NEGLECT FROM I IGNORANCE. The water pump had fuzz growing out of it. . Ran the original TRD OFF ROAD shocks till the end. Only thing that had an issue was a relay for the air conditioner was bad and for a year his ac didn't work.

AND it ran perfect till the end, didn't burn oil, it was powerful till the end. It was a work truck, he did construction with it from the beginning to end. The thing hauled gear and materials every day. I once over loaded it with way too much sod, the frame was bending.

Only thing was my dad drives exactly the speed limit. Never goes fast.

I serviced everything before we sold it. Did all fluids, front rotors and pads, did a new water pump, changed plugs. The oil filter was a ball of soggy mush. Never touched the transmission, original factory fluid and filter. The drivers seat bottom cushion was worn and ripped, I got a new aftermarket seat upholstery bottom online , from the theseatshop.com and had that swapped. Put new Michelins on it right before it went. Front bumper and grill was banged up, I switched those out with Craigslist parts at home too.

    Sold it for $12k

Ran better than our new 2019 we got. Seriously. He kept saying the old one was more powerful. Got him a pedal commander and after he said now it feels the same

These trucks are built to last. In the 13 years he had it. It never had any problems, never left him stranded. He never needed a tow. It was 110% reliable. It shifted perfect.

Any other brand truck treated like this would have failed. I'm pretty sure the current gen tundra isn't this reliable.

I took off the drivers grab handle for the new truck, put the new trucks a pillar on the old truck.

It literally drove the same from new till neglected end.

My own mechanic , would always say tundras have problems, and I'd get annoyed and start doubting his knowledge because we never had problems.

Worst thing is my pops is a civil engineer. I assumed he was taking care of the truck. It was only at the end he admitted he never did anything for the truck.

If you take care of your tundra you're going to be fine.

I did all the final servicing at home, before it sold, just to not be a complete ass to the new owner, whoever wanted it and bought it.

The new owner messaged me a year later saying he loves the truck. That he drives it long distances and it's the most comfortable truck he has ever been in.

EDIT: The Hilux isn't boosted yet, I always forget that since obviously it'll get a turbo since it has a 2JZ

Unless he was using some very high end oil, I don't buy the almost 60k oil change interval. No matter how tough the vehicle is, oil used that long sludges up.

    It was sludge.
    The filter was dissolved/melted .

    It was what it was.

Wasn't trying to sell you anything Mr sour.

Just sharing a story of idiocy and the fact the truck took it pretty well.
