----Just a general rant here.....let me preface this with saying, to each their own. 3rd Gen Tundras look stupid as hell to me. Toyota took all the sex appeal out of the 2nd gen by taking away their sweet curves, squaring everything off and not updating a damn thing under the hood. And what the hell is up with the stamped metal "TUNDRA" in the tail gate anyway? It looks like crap, it's not clean...... why the hell do we need a stamped reminder of which model truck it is? At a minimum they should have upgraded all the lights to bright LED's stock--no extra charge, or improved the gas milage....but noooooooo.....they just gave an "upgrade" option of a larger gas tank.
---- If ya want a boxy ass ugly truck why not just buy a Cheto Ford F-150?
----Up next for rants.... Fender Flares.... and stock wheels!

3rd gen looks are what made me get a Tundra. IMO, best looking full size on the market at the moment.

Same here. I like the look of the Third gen Tundra. It even has the wife stamp of approval for a good looking truck to the point she drives it more then I do.

Gen2's are beautiful like a Victoria Secret model ...

But Gen3's are built to attract those models ... :muscleflexing:

I'll trade out my 2nd gen for a new Tundra regardless of the body style if Toyota puts their OWN mind blowing version of a diesel under the hood or develop a gas engine that out performs our current i-force with millage and towing.:burnrubber:

Hey everyone, be nice to the op, there's lots of confused people in this world and some would rather "hear a fat boy fart than a pretty girl squeal"

Hey...... Toyota is smart.... if they figure out ANY engine with better millage that can still tow I'm game...... You KNOw they have to have something in the works close to completion at this point...
Ford was smart putting turbo's in their engines..... I'll NEVER buy a Ford though....

5.7 liter approximately equals 350cubic inches. The last 350cu in I had was a 4bbl Buick which got about half the mileage my Tundra gets now. In addition my Ram 2500 got about 3 MPG less then the tundra so I would say they did improve MPGs unless you want to get into the variable cylinder bs that Dodge and others are using.

When they released the "new" 3rd Gen 2014, I saw that truck and instantly knew that I wanted one. Took me a couple years but I eventually got a 2016. I love this truck! But yes, to each their own.

Why the stamped tailgate? Because it's a hell of a lot cheaper to stamp the tailgate than it is to badge all the tailgates that leave the factory. It still says 'Tundra' but now Toyota isn't paying their vendor for the thousands and thousands of Tundra badges. Instead that payment is now made by the owner if they want their Tundra stamp filled in with colored letters.
