Eibach Pro Truck 1st Gen 4WD

    I'm exploring options for the front of my 05' DC 4WD and it looks like there are varying messages about the Eibach front setup for 4WD 1st Gen's. I've found conflicting info from vendors listing either shocks, springs or an assembled package (like Toytec sells) for either 2WD or with no mention what so ever of these being 2WD specific.

    To my knowledge there is no difference physically between 2WD and 4WD coilovers - just perhaps the OEM spring itself is weighted/sprung differently. Thus, the 2WD and 4WD stuff should be interchangeable.

    Just wanted to jump on and see if anyone has direct experience using the Eibach setup, whether partial or as a complete kit, on the front of their 4WD 1st gen and if you'd provide any additional details: mileage, height gained on bottom perch (or measurements), opinions on ride vs. any other setups you've known with your 1st gen, other suspension mods (front or rear) you have...etc

    I'm not totally sold on these but I want to consider them. I've had my share of 5100 setups on various yota's and sm considering them, these Eibachs and maybe 6112's up front as well. Reason I am looking at these specifically is because of the taller spring at the bottom perch (not having to preload) and an advertised 2.5" on 2WD truck (is it in AC or DC, who knows). My ideal lift would fall around 1-2" in front OVER stock (so maybe 21.5" or so hub:fender).

    Just looking for some real world experience. Anyone?

    Called Eibach and the thought was that they didn't have a 4WD Tundra to test this stuff on which is the reason they list for 2WD only.

    Part number E30-82006-0420 is the Spring that comes in the kit, OR is sold separately - it is rated at 645lbs (Bilstein kits use 650lb standard or 700lb optional) and a length of 376mm.

    This thread here had good numbers for Access Cabs:
    Nothing for the DC 4WD there or anywhere I can find. I know they're all banded differently with colors and have different part numbers. It may be that the OEM just has a slightly different length (longer on driver side) by a few mm's rather then a different lb rating.

    I suppose I'm interested to check in and see, even if you have 2WD, what circlip and height was attained.

    I used them on my 4WD Sequoia so not even remotely what Eibach recommends :) I reused the stock coils and on the 1st clip I got 3/4 lift. @lsaami used them on his truck also.

    I like the ride, but one of my lower bushings seized and so did @lsaami . I emailed Eibach and the bushing is replaceable but I still have to cut it out.

    That sounds about right, thanks for the feedback. Eibach only recommends using those circlip slots (above the bottom) for the stock spring - which is 1) not as tall and 2) not rated as high as the Eibach @ 645lbs.

    Wish I could fill in the rest and make a better educated guess. I think I may lean toward the 6112's.

    I've only heard positives about the 6112's.

    Between 3 different 1st gens (don't ask), I've used bilstein 4600, OME, toytec (not aluma) and eibach. OME was my favorite followed closely by Eibach, but I'd say they were opposite ends of the spectrum. OME are stiffer and planted but not overly stiff, Eibach were more compliant.

    What was your Eibach setup on the 1st gen? Just these shocks and stock springs?

    I know they're different companies, but I'd reckon they're on the level with the 5100's - which I've found to be good as well.

    Yeah, rear shocks were dobinson and dobinson coils.

    3/2" lift, visor, 33s, eibach pro-truck, Cvj axles BFF Bumper 4.56 Tacoma Diffs
    yeah, I've got the Pro-trucks and OME 2885s on the Second from bottom perch. (about 3" of lift) They're fine. I'm happy with them. as Rock_climber mentioned, the lower bushings aren't the greatest. I went with them as the rear shocks are slightly longer than the 5100s per wheelers off road, which meant i could safely run them with a 2" rear lift.

    Just picked up a Gen 1 Sequoia 4x4 for my son and Eibach told me in July there are releasing a Gen 1 Sequoia specific Pro Truck kit. The fronts would probably perform well on the Gen 1 Tundra DC 4x4's
