If you had oil leaking out of a freeze plug you've got much bigger issues. Had to be a coolant leak if it was a freeze plug.

If it continues to leak and can’t be written off as assembly lube, maybe this is the cause? Just trying to provide a possible cause based on what I’ve seen on other sites.

Same leak issue on my 2022 1794 hybrid. Dealer noticed it at my 5k service and had me come back after cleaning it off to eliminate the manufacturing residue cause. They claimed it was a bad rear seal, then said it was the oil pan gasket, then switched to a faulty freeze plug and are now swapping out the entire engine block. No truck for 5 weeks and I get a truck that was been totally taken apart and reassembled, likely a first for the technician doing it.

Wow, you guys had me scared enough to check mine. It's bone dry, and I hope it stays that way.

Update on my new engine block… I was shown the leak and it’s a small, nickel sized plug on the block inside where the bell housing mates to the block. A small dribble of oil was obvious and it did appear constant. The tech said they don’t have a tool to properly remove and seat a new plug so they had to replace the entire block. They’re replacing the timing belt during the process.

Just discovered oil around my bell housing seal (I think?). 2023 Limited Hybrid built around March. 800 miles on it. I’m guessing this is similar to what the others are talking about? Wiped it off and will monitor.

Didn't think we had a timing belt...you mean timing chain?

Looks like my case is not alone, maybe worse than everyone had this issue here. After every time I drive my truck, it’s leaking transmission fluid between electrical motors and transmission. It’s pink. I had a video but having hard time uploading, it shows approximately every 5 sec 1 drop. Upload two pic for everyone to check and discuss. I did bring my truck to dealership for repair, they replace couple things: front transmission input seal, front oil pump o ring, transmission fluid transfer o ring. Got my truck back yesterday, I will drive it for a while to see if problem comes up again and keep everybody updated.

What was everyone’s outcome on this oil leak from the weep hole? What did the dealer end up doing? Rear main seal? Was the problem fixed? I’m having same issue on a 24 with 500 miles

Mine was assembly lube. The dealership cleaned up the spot. They | myself have been monitoring it for the past year plus. No more fluid has built up since...so I think their assessment was correct.

Here is my leak around the weep hole. Less than 600 miles. Looks like fresh oil, its not red like ive seen some other post. Are the weep holes supposed to drop oil from there? What is that hole for anyways? I highly doubt it is assembly lube. I wiped it, 2 days later more oil around same area. Im gonna take it to the dealer this week

I have oil leaking from bell housing also. Had into dealership and they added dye and I have to take it back for what looks like transmission removal to confirm where oil is coming from at back of engine block. 2024 with 11000km.

So my worst fears came true. They first said it was the RMS. They replaced the RMS and 3 days later was leaking again. Took it back and they determined the freeze plug was leaking and the entire short block had to be replaced. I am very upset about all of this and have started a lemon law case with Toyota. Truck has less than 1000miles on it. Literally leaking from day one. Its been in the shop for more than Ive owned the damn thing. No way Im keeping this truck long term. I hope they follow thru with lemon law or buyback. I may go to another brand unless Toyota really takes care of me somehow.
