TRD Sway Bar 2023 1794

I have a 2023 Tundra 1794 4x4. I would like to reduce the body roll. I'm not interested in lifting it as I mostly drive on paved roads. Has anyone installed TRD sway bars on theirs? If so has it greatly improved body roll? I can't find any part numbers for the 22-23's TRD sway bars.

Don't restrict your search to Tundra parts.
The Sequoia sway bars may be a bit stiffer.

So they just painted em red?

 

As far as I can determine the bushings and links are OEM . So I don't need changing anything else with TRD sway bar install. Can anyone confirm this.

 

Did I not see the bushings and links in your TRD thread or did you just update it? Also I noticed in the TRD web site, that if you swipe on the sway bar pix it shows what looks to be a rear sway bar. May be a different year as it doesn't show model years.

 

Could be the links are slightly extended due to the higher stance.

I'm considering ordering too. I'm hoping that the TRD Pro end Links are unnecessary.

 

I have Anti sway bars in front & rear.
Completely changed how the truck rides on hwy for the better, if you drive 90% or more on the hwy its a must, handles like a sports car now, planted in fast turns

I requested that the vendor email me the installation instructions as Toyota is great at NOT automatically including them. Hope I actually receive it. But looking at the 3 " lift kit instructions that ryanwgregg posted. The link appears to have a larger bushing which requires a different bolt. Hopefully its included. So the TRD sway bar may require the links.

Ok. My 19 was a TRD SPORT so it already had it. I put one on my 14 and yes made a world of difference. I though the 22's + would already have one since it's coil now.

 

Please do let us know! I have a 2022 1794 6.5" and definitely can use a little more frame support via sway bar!

 

The only aftermarket anti sway bars I would consider for this 3rd gen would be Hotchkis, Ridetech (close second), and Hellwig (third choice); but unfortunately they don’t have any application.

 

SITREP. Received my TRD sway bar order today. The weight is incredible. I bet the Fedex Guy is still cussing me out. Determined that TRD sway bar definitely needs the TRD links as the link is clocked differently then OEM to match the bend of the TRD sway bar mounting point. The OEM and TRD links are the same length. The TRD sway bar came with bushings, so i didn't need to order them. There was no bolts or bar link adapters included with links. So I will need to order bolt (90105-A0232) and TRD Fr stabilizer bar link adapter. I'm using the 3" lift kit instructions but I'm not lifting the truck. Page 34 says I need the bolts, but also states that the bar link adapter (shown in pink) which is included in the lift kit is also needed. Since I didn't buy the lift kit I need to order bar link adapters. Page 2 item 12 lists PT983-34340 cap, link adapter.
ryanwgregg are you able to confirm that PT983-34340 cap, link adapter is correct?

 

The OEM diagram doesn't show the PT983-34340 cap, link adapter. The TRD link has large splines where the bolt goes through. so it needs some kind of bushing. Don't know if the OEM one is removable as I haven't disassembled anything yet. Maybe the splines line up with splines on the frame it mounts to and I don't even need the additional bolt?

Sway bar replacement went well. Nothing too complicated. There is always one bolt that fights you. I didn't have a torque spec for the upper link nut. I tightened it to German spec, gutentite. All other fasteners where torqued to spec. Took a quick test drive corners much flatter. Would recommend upgrade for those of you that don't like the body roll in corners. The TRD sway bar weighs in at 45 lbs. and is 1.530" in diameter. It appears solid. The OEM is 28 lbs. and is 1.630" in diameter. It appears hollow. There was an approximate 1/2 inch gap between the end of the lower link post and the fastener washer. Maybe that is what the cap, link adapter and new bolt were designed to fill, in the the 3" lift instruction. I'm very happy with the mod.

I need to order the sway bar (bushings are included), end Links, and bolts....is that it?

 

I reused all the OEM fasteners. Didn't need to purchase any additional fasteners. I just surmise that in the TRD 3" lift kit instructions, the cap, link adapter and new bolt were designed to fill that gap I described above.

 

The 111 Ft.lbs. was for the lower bolt. Is it the same for the upper nut? Is that the 111 in your diagram?

I may buy the cap, link adapter and new bolt. They are cheap. Just to satisfy my my curiosity.

 

It was covered in bubble wrap from the factory. The end links where in a bubble wrap pouch. It was shipped in a box surrounded by paper. One end of sway bar did poke out of the box in shipping. I will see if they have touch up paint as there is a couple of nicks to bare metal. Just to prevent rust. The FedEx guy wrote very heavy on the outside of the box.

 

May I ask how much it would cost to acquire a sway bar
