    Anybody seen this before?

05 4.7 4x4. It was after a dead battery from sitting outside at the shop during a cold spell, we jumped it there with a start box and when I got in the truck to drive home I heard that repetitive clicking but it was bright and did not see the lights flash. Drove it home but only a couple miles so I don’t think it had time to charge up. In the garage it wouldn’t start back so I jumped it off another rig and then took this video, so this was right after startup and lasted for about 1min before stopping. Another weird thing, when I got it to start it in the garage and it wouldn’t turn over only click, I noticed that the parking lights were dimly lit with no way to shut them off. So was this all just weird low batt stuff or what?

Get that battery on the reconditioner phase of a charger or at the very least charged and have a drop test performed. Dash lights don't like low power - or more specifically , the sensors at the other end of those lights are starved of power while the engine steals everything the battery has.

Personally I wouldn't even bother with messing around trying to recharge the battery, modern batteries are almost always either good or bad with almost no warning between the two.. Trying to get a few more miles out of it is likely to just end up needing multiple jump starts and much hair pulling.

And check the alternator...everything freaks out with low voltage.

Okay good stuff, so it is likely a low power situation causing that then not another issue in the wiring/lighting itself?

You might have fried a relay during the jump start. If the battery/alternator does solve the problem, then check relays and fuses next

I did consider mentioning the alternator but as OP made no mention of the alternator light coming on just on it's own before the dash did the whole Christmas lights thing I let it slide. If the alternator is duff and the battery OKish just that one light should come before the battery takes a dump. Obviously if both are iffy then it's anyone's guess.

Ordinarily, yes, but I find that vehicle electrics have a mind of their own. YMMV.

I'm guessing your battery is toast, battery test is free at the store, if it comes back OK, you're probably looking at a bad alternator.

Go with Denso on the replacement. Don't do store brands.

start with the easy stuff. get a good battery in there and see if it persists. if it does, look at the parking light system. fuses, relays, wiring, etc.
