Well had some unfortunate issues arise with my 2016 sr5 double cab and decided the best option for me was to part ways with it. This weekend found a replacement, a 2020 SR5 crewmax 4x4 with 25k miles. I plan to use this to keep up with mods, maintenance, and Tundra related shenanigans.

I loved my other truck but the crewmax is definitely growing on me. The huge back seat and roll down back window are pretty awesome.

Monday afternoon waiting around on a buddy, I was browsing FB marker and came across an ad for a full TRD Pro grill set up in super white. Ended up getting the grill, hood piece, and sensor cover for $500 all new in Toyota packing. Put it on yesterday and threw some Philips LED bulbs in the headlights.

Saved a few parts from the 2016 including my tires and wheels. Nearly new 295/70-18 Maxxis Razr ATs and freshly powder coated Method double standards.

Already ordered Eibach stage 2 coilovers and shocks and waiting on those to show up.

Installed a few more parts I saved from the old truck this weekend. Also, the first big mod for this build showed up too.

Decided to try out the newer Eibach coilovers this go round. Ordered straight from Eibach and showed up quickly. Plan to install those and the wheels and tires this week. Then decide if I need to adjust the front or add anything in the rear.

Got the lift on, TPMS sensors swapped, and wheels and tires on, but it’s pouring rain.

    Installed:
    -Eibach coilovers and rear shocks
-Old Man Emu rear brake line and ABS wire relocation brackets
    -Rokblokz mud flaps
    -Method 18” 304 Double Standards
    -Maxxis Razr AT 295/70-18

    EE98A2EF-0CDC-4902-A076-97C22A401E31.jpg

I didn’t get any pics during the install, but everyone has seen shocks installed by now. Pretty impressed with the Eibach setup so far, can’t wait to hit the National Forest Roads! There was a lift rubbing in the front, but removed the little front flaps, pushed the liner forward and replaced the mud flap. Everything clears great now.

Busy day tinkering on truck this afternoon.

Installed my ARB single compressor and @Bannock452 mount from the old truck. Did the a switch on the mount vs in cab since I’ll be under the hood to use it anyways.
    DA87CE10-CFF0-4381-8DA3-626D9F4C25F1.jpg

Installed my old RCI skid plate and tow hooks coated in Steel-It, kinda close color match
    73FC55FF-FC60-420D-A69C-3E1146C1E821.jpg

Did the diff breather mod. Hose it ran up behind the tail light.
    7B2ACD5B-7A0C-4DFF-9E23-883421CCC95F.jpg

Scored a new 295/70-18 Cooper from a buddy for $free.99. Gonna get it mounted on the spare when I go for an alignment.
    D356E231-7991-455C-AAF5-2B73EC027315.jpg

Also measured the all four corners after putting some miles on coilovers. Dead even at 40” ground to fender in the front on both sides, and 40 1/2” on the rear. Still debating a small block, shackles, or something in the rear.

Guess I forgot about adding this pic earlier. Decided to add some N-fab podium steps for my vertically-challenged family and friends. Eventually I’d like to get sliders, but not really needed at the moment. I did take advantage of @RCIoffroad tax sale and got an aluminum trans/t-case skid coming.

Trying to decide between de-badging or black overlays next. Leaning toward de-badging for easy of cleaning. Open to suggestions though.

Got around to installing the RCI trans/t-case skid a few days ago. Another quality piece from them to match the engine skid. Hopefully their add-on cat guards come out soon for some extra protection.

Also mounted up these Rocky Mounts quick release axle for my hard tail bikes. Still weighing my options on a solution for my tru axle full suspension.

Decided to start de-badging the truck today. They all came off fairly easily and cleanly with a little effort.

Really cleans up the look of the truck in my opinion. Next step is wash and wax.

So far so good! Seem comparable to my previous trucks 6112s but look better built at a more affordable price. Plus they’re were readily available! I considered Accutune Fox 2.5s but they’re overkill for my usage.

I'm thinking I will go the Eibach Stage 1, buy some KYB/monroe strut mounts. The Stage 2 comes complete, and has a threaded body to get exactly the height you want vs stage one having a few preset clip locations.

Installed some Meso and AJT blackout pieces. Need to decide on a new shift knob next and pick up a few more chrome delete pieces.

Finally got around to installing the RCI cat guard add-on to my skid. Instructions were ok and install wasn’t terrible. They are perfect but hopefully they’ll deter any would be their.

Doing a little work this morning so decided to update with some recent interior upgrades. A couple months ago I added black Clazzios covers with the leather inserts. I had these in my previous truck for several years with zero issues and many complements. Considered Katzkins but it’s hard to beat the cost savings of the Clazzios.

    7AAFB083-4CD1-4614-AE0D-550F0B9B15CF.jpg A92F95A2-1E83-48E9-8825-1FFB5D8A4B83.jpg

Continuing with the cost savings, I picked up Amazon special knock off TRD shift knob on Prime Day. It’s probably 70-75% the quality of OEM but less than a 1/3 the price.
    565D5D65-2996-4C31-9B2D-A294CAF39018.jpg

Then finally this morning I installed @DesertDoesIt seat jackers on the drivers seat. I was skeptical being 6’6” with a long torso, but initial impressions are good. They definitely give that sitting in the seat vs on the seat feeling people have described.
    01DE3541-DC43-4898-ACE5-1D432A73F1BA.jpg

Now if the constant rain south Mississippi is receiving would quit, she’s due for a good detail and coat of wax…

Not much excitement over that last 6 months, just putting on miles and sucking gas as Tundras tend to do. Removed the seat jackers and sold them to another member. I didn’t hate them but never really found a comfortable position with them either.

Last night, 2/20, the battery failed on me. Completely dead. Got an O’Reilly super start extreme replacement. Labeled it and posted here as a reminder.

Also you can see the Blue Sea fuse block I added a couple months ago. Supplies power for the ARB control circuit and light bar.

32” Caliraised light bar and brackets I had left over from my last truck. It was sitting on the shelf, so I decided to repaint the brackets and install it. Considering selling it but figured I wouldn’t get much so on it went.
    B7294F3B-BC68-44BE-8789-F433C03EA210.jpg
Used an AOB factory style switch above the brake controller. Not an exact match but close enough for me.
    569521DA-E5F1-4927-ADC0-150EF33F04FF.jpg

Just turned over 39k miles, and I’ve been stocking up on some things for the 40k mile service that should be coming up in next month or 2.

Nothing out of the ordinary, engine oil/filter, air and cabin filter, wiper blades/washer fluid, tire rotation and some different center caps from Method. Considering a Trans drain and fill but might wait until 45k or 50k. Probably gonna get a wash and wax as well.

I’m probably gonna do diffs at 60k. Some people do them at 30k but I personally think synthetics can handle longer than that. I rarely tow so I think they don’t get stressed as much either.

I changed my rear diff fluid at 20k and it looked really really black. I get that it was the break in oil, but still didnt really expect it that bad, especially when the book says like 60k or something. I plan on doing it again at 40k, along with the front diff, and see if it was really black just because it was break in oil, or if its because I offroad and run the truck heavy alot of the time. I dont tow hardly ever, maybe twice a year, less than 3k weight.

Spent the morning giving the truck some attention with maintenance and new running boards. Currently at just under 40k and was due for an oil change after 5k miles.

Cool trick I saw somewhere on here before. Drill a small vent hole right there and it allows you to completely fill the washer fluid tank.

Fumoto valve makes draining and catch a sample a breeze. Didn’t realize I had already installed it, planned on doing that this time.

Denso on the left, Wix on the right. Seems like everyone is adding the pre-filter material.

Never really loved the previous Nfab steps, so found the Go Rhino boards on sale. These are the RB10 slims with bed liner coating. Slotted and tweaked the brackets to get a tighter fit to the body. I’ll get some better pics after a wash.

Have a small road trip coming up with weekend/next week, and after that is a detail and tire rotation. Delayed the rotation so I can clean the back side of the wheels.

Mine always has an air pocket in part of it if I filled to the brim. It was near over flowing before I drilled the hole and it leveled out to where the second pic is after drilling the hole. Then I topped it off with the rest of the gallon jugs.

Got it tuned today by Tom at Yota Performance Tuning. He uses Overland Tailor Tuning calibrations. Truck feels 100% improved, snappier throttle and crisp shifting. He let test drive a couple different tune options and got the truck dialed to my liking for throttle sensitivity.

Also got my shipping notice from Hotshot Offroad for my Diode Dynamics hitchmount pod.

It was $550, and he provides free adjustments for things like throttle response and gear changes in the future.
