Well it happened, I scraped both of my wheels.. had my truck under a month. I was just getting to be happy after fixing the wind noise issue and boom another issue… starting to think my truck is cursed tbh. anywhow, is this fixable or do I just replace the wheel.

This is why you need 35's on 17" wheels. The curbs at Starbucks are brutal.

If it were mine, after the anger subsided, I would take a dremel with a small sanding cone and smooth out all the burrs then touch them up with some paint. Good luck.

Anger has subsided, I’m going to see someone tomorrow that can supposedly fix them.

this. They go a long way toward preventing scraping on curbs. Just like sliders keep the shopping carts and door dings away

Yeah, truck is definitely cursed, 35 years of driving and I've never had one pull a stunt like that. Better sell it to me for 20 bucks before the never ending supply of windshield washer fluid runs out.

    Lots of stuff!
If the wheels are still straight. Just fix them up yourself. A bigger wider tire would help protect them in the future.

You can fix them or just buy mine from me. My wife is great at finding curbs though have had her's fixed by a local guy for a couple hundred for two wheels.

I'd just leave it alone and go on with life. It's a pickup, not a show car.

If I were you, just go scrape the other side too. Definitely have some hard core street cred.

Glad you have a sense of humor about it.

I bet those can be repaired.

That’s a big subject. I guess it really depends on what you want from your truck.

I put some 295/60/20 tires on my truck. They are heavily treaded and wide and that’s what I was looking for. I wouldn’t be able to curb my wheels if I tried.

Sand down the rash. Hit it with metal filler and paint.

Some 295/60r20 (33.9") say they are supposed to go on 8.5"+ rims, but I think you'd be fine. Just make sure to keep pressure on the low end. Other options are 285/65r20 (34.6"): And 275/65r20 (34.1"): And 285/60r20 (33.5"): 37s would look the best of course and give you great protection. ;)

For real though. Our walmart parking lot is insanely tight and I just roll in an smash into curbs with my 315/70R17's. I dont even try to avoid them anymore. 8.5" of sidewall and some sidewall bulge keep the wheels well protected.
