All I can get for free are the blue poly barrels. Not sure if that would work

I think i can fit 6, even if i have to offset the middle for the wheel wells. Hell yea, how many can you get? I need em all. Empty, i could stack em on my trailer. Take 48 at a time. Try to get a diameter measurement.

Full load? Hell yea! I'll bring the trailer. This weekend or next week, just gotta run to HF and get a couple packs of fresh straps. I know of a dirt hill to weigh em down for highway speeds.

You just gotta tell me when the day before and that night I'll load the truck and trailer full at work. But you gotta come get em the next day, preferably in the morning when I get home. I need my trailer to take dad's riding mower to the shop next Tuesday. And I can't store the barrels long before the parents start bitching. So those are my conditions :playball: balls in your court.
I'm off Sunday and I have a jury summons Monday. Hopefully I dont get picked. The only other thing I need to do is take the 4x4 to Teq Auto Solutions & Off-Road on the other side of the ship channel tunnel some time soon before T2S. Need to get my leaky front diff fixed and skids fixed. Diff should still be under warranty

As long as you take freeway to the Schnebly exit, it'll be fine.

sorry to take the thread so far off topic, i mean, i could bring cheap gas and non potable water, but these barrels are eventually destined for an earthship build. Like a log cabin built of barrels of compacted dirt. However, i got good feedback on this idea and might wanna implement it.

"If i got 2 super single waterbeds, 4'x7' $70 ea. 875 lbs and 104 gallons each, built a frame and back, put the frame in upside down with 1 matress inside, and fill the bag, have the frame braced to the truck and tied in, then when i get to camp, untie the frame, lift it out, set the frame at camp, put the 2nd water matress inside, and transfer water out of the truck, and roll up the first mattress. Wouldnt have to carry my water with me. And could share as non potable or whatevs. Cause i dont know how clean those kinda matresses are. Refilling peoples shower bags and whatnot. And some waffle fries. Fo' free. Cause someone could carry the empty bag to town to refill it and top off the tank."

my springs are grandpa soft, but someone with HD springs could double up with 2 frames and 3 mattresses. Bring enough water for everyone.

Alright, I'll admit, I've lost the plot.

Are you guys talking about transporting gas in drum containers?? If so, I was on board when it's a fun plan on the forum, but not in real life. Years ago and friend of mine and her new husband decided to move to Mexico and drive there so they could take everything they didn't sell to pay for the trip. To save money (or maybe to make sure they had quality gasoline), they carried gas in a couple of 55 gallon drums in the truck bed. Got T-boned driving through Texas and died horrible deaths right there. Not much left to bury. So, I vote no. It so wouldn't be worth it.

    Edit: water, I'd totally buy!

No way I'd let em transport gas in drums. It would have to be a tanker with a a bladder or inner tank. I think he's talking about water

I could carry 2 drums in the truck, for non potable, even after a cleaning. Another 2 for cheap fuel, and a 5th as a transfer. But i'll be damned if i didnt picture me towing 84 drums of guzzoline with only rear brakes and someone cutting me off doing 20 under. Some of those west texas folks and onramps are very stupid.

Better stop smoking. It's been almost 3 months for me. I'm a little nervous about the long drive since I quit smoking. I hope I don't relapse

Dont rely on me. I'm a smoker, albeit strictly outdoor. Bring 10 blotter sheets, you'll probably kick the habit.
