I have a Toyota Tundra Platinum, yesterday I’ve been having issues with my cluster delaying the needles and the RPM and Speedometer needles seem to freak out and stutter. I already disconnected the battery with no fix. Ever since this happened, the truck resets MPG and data, it acts like I disconnect the battery when I remove the key and the anti theft light does not blink when I remove the key. Also when I remove the key, the needle positions do not go down, they get stuck in the same position until you insert the key again. I posted a video on YouTube so you can see the needles delaying on startup. Also you can see in the video that the RPM and speedo needles freak out for a bit. I also started up the truck as well so you can see it also delays as well. Any help is appreciated

Check the fuses, more specifically the 5A MET-B fuse in the fuse box under the driver side dash. This goes to Pin#1 on the J28 meter connection and should be 24/7 battery power.

The cluster has two signals for power. One is a constant B+ from the battery to allow it to retain memory and keep the CPU alive, but in a sleep mode when the key is off. The second power source is an ignition power that comes into the cluster when the key is turned on. This is the signal to "wake up" the cluster for operation.

Seems when you turn the key off your cluster is going completely dark meaning it is not getting constant B power from the battery. This will make it forget the memory data and also most likely make the needles look jumpy as they are resetting from a hard cold boot as you turn the key on.

Its not properly booting and showing the Tundra logo at the beginning either

The 5A fuse was blown. Thanks for the solution. Everything works as expected now.D219E7C8-9BC2-4FBE-99C4-24796B5771B1.jpg
