Anyone know why this would not fit a 2019?

 

It will fit an 18-21 just fine.
I bought one. Know that it isn’t set up to work with the apple magsafe cases/attachment - it uses Scosche’s “magic mount” magnetic plates. The charger itself is a 10W max Qi charger.

I’m in the process of modifying mine to hold an Apple MagSafe charger and actually provide up to 18W per the MagSafe standard…

Getting the right power supplied to the MagSafe charger has been the biggest challenge. All the “buck converter” units out there step 12V to 5V per regular USB standards. The MagSafe charger uses USB-C PD (power delivery) that negotiates voltage from the power supply up to 20V depending on the device. In the case of the apple charger, it is using 9V power, so I’ve had to get creative with the right components to make it work.

 

Finally got around to installing today. Super easy. I'm not using the mount on my phone and it still works to charge without it
